Actually most of the best D&D currently is remakes (e.g. the OSR scene or Pathfinder 2).
Then again, one thing all of it has in common is being third party material.

Not all remakes are bad, like the Resident Evil Remakes, they reimagine the gameplay, characters and plot of the classics while still holding true to them. But sadly there are a few (more than a few!) bad apples in the remake bunch that turn people off from watching/playing/buying them.
