So Readers, this trailer... (smiles with a Thumbs Up)

Honestly, this smile was on my face the moment that Harley mentioned in the voiceover that she was no longer with the Joker

And while Poison Ivy ISN’T in this movie, I can already tell that the theme of this is gonna be a mix of “How Harley Got Her Groove Back” and the Angela Bassett bits of “Waiting to Exhale.” ...But with guns!

No, seriously; that wasn’t a jab at the tone. I actually like that this is pretty much an action/adventure superhero version of “Girls Trip.”

As a matter of fact, it kinda HELPS that Pamela isn’t in this one.

/Because from what they showed about how Harley is coping and how she’s gonna heal from finally breaking away from an ACTUAL Stockholm Syndrome relationship is to be around people that can HELP her heal so that she can stand on her own two feet instead of using a relationship as a crutch/

Yes, I got all of that just from watching the trailer, have you MET ME??

I say that because there are a LOT of scenes and dialogue IN this trailer that this is gonna be Harley’s journey to independence.

And I think the scene that impacted me the hardest regarding feeling comfortable in how they were gonna TAKE her in this new direction

/Was Harley cut off her colored locks/

Like, considering how it hit me even though that scene was quick as fuck in the trailer, I can only imagine how that shit’s gonna impact me when I see the FULL scene in the movie; I’d probably start a round of applause, honestly.

All the Birds of Prey looked great in action, especially Black Canary

And Renee Montoya is being the badass latino lesbian auntie I always wanted her to be and I’m so happy

/I still wish that Huntress had a more comic-accurate costume as opposed to the streetwear she’s in over the course of the movie because I just REALLY wanna see Mary in the mask/

Also I’m getting a lot of Golden Child/Witness Protection vibes from Cassandra Cain in this (pause) I’m also surprised that she can talk.

Which is fine, I mean, I know that she DOES talk in the comics

But I think the route that they’re taking with her in this film is that this is PRE-badass Cassandra Cain

/And that Harley and the Birds have to protect her from Black Mask and Victor Zsaz because she probably saw something that she wasn’t supposed to/

Or, she already IS badass Cassandra Cain, and that’s why Black Mask wants her

Overall, this looks...great. And I’m so excited

It feels like what the studio execs wanted David Ayer to turn his Suicide Squad into after the first test screenings went to shit, because it definitely has that feel of...Chaotic Neutral Fun, while staying true to the characters involved

This is going to be...FUN. I’m really looking forward to this.
