Patreon Tier Changes & Updates

Hey, Readers!

If you've watched my channel update video, then you know that I'm knee-deep in preparation for Patreon-A-Thon, including making some changes to the rewards and the overall tiers here so that they can be applied for both new patrons and those of you who wish to either keep your current tier or increase your monthly donation if you ever wish to do so. But because you all are already patrons -- some of you since the very beginning -- I didn't want to leave you in the dark until the changes were made.

So with that being said, here are all the changes that will be made to the Patreon starting October 1st!

- The exclusive Patreon store will be discontinued and the discount codes will be deactivated. I made this decision because a lot of the items that I wanted to sell on Teespring but could only sell through the distributor I used through the Patreon-exclusive store (snapbacks, beanies, etc) have recently made themselves available and I want to add that variety to the main merchandise store. So to make up for this in the tier slots, discount coupons to the Teespring store that can be used at any time will be made available to current patrons come October 1st; 10% off coupons to the Casual and Regular Reader tiers, and 15% off coupons to the Invested and Hardcore Reader tiers. Any item that was once available in the Patreon-exclusive merch store that didn't make the transition to the Teespring store will be made into prizes for future giveaways and contests, both for patrons and non-patrons alike

- Until I have the proper amount of time to dedicate to it, I'll be discontinuing the Discord server. I honestly only added it as a tier reward because it was a common one among the rest of my YouTube friends and peers with Patreon accounts, but no one really uses it. So unless there's a large request for it later on down the line, I'll be removing it come October 1st.

- Casual Reader patrons will now have a producer credit by having their name/username featured during the end card segment of every regular video starting October 2nd, while Regular Reader patrons and higher will be given a shoutout at the end of the video. I'll also be doing monthly social media shoutouts in the form of pictures (Casual and Regular Readers) and videos (Invested and Hardcore Readers). I understand that some of you may not want this amount of attention, whether it's verbally or via text. So if this is something you don't want but still want to remain a patron, simply message me here and I'll make the appropriate adjustments.

- The Five-Day First Look for the videos premiering during Patreon-A-Thon/unlocked by hitting the stretch goals will be transitioned to early access instead. I made this decision in order to keep myself from stressing out and rushing to release videos on time to meet a deadline. While I still plan on getting the stretch goal videos made early, getting them made a week or two in advance isn't currently practical for me. Instead, they will be available to Invested and Hardcore Readers when they are ready, which will be anywhere from 1 to 3 days before they premiere on the the channel to the public.

- The writing portion that's currently available in the Regular Reader tier and higher will be discontinued, and replaced with Early Access on 1 regular video a week. I realized that with my current schedule and the way I've been producing content, I'm unable to provide any proper look at my fiction like I initially wanted to. So I figured getting a video a day or two early would be a suitable replacement.

- The Devoted Reader tier will be reformatted and added back to the tier listlater on in 2020, but will be removed from the list along with the Fanatic Reader tier starting October 1st. I have plans for the Devoted Reader tier that involve proper rewards for it, along with it being a bit cheaper than the initial $50 a month I originally set it as. However, considering my current situation, I was unable to have content ready for it for October's Patreon-A-Thon. Instead, I'll bring it back come the new year when the Patreon has grown.

- Monthly AMA videos and the ability to submit questions for them will be added to anyone in the Invested Reader tier and higher. As of this moment, this will be marked as Patreon-exclusive content and will not be released on the main channel. But that may change if the want is greater, so feel free to leave a comment about it to let me know.

I'll start making the changes to the Patreon and the tier list at 12 midnight EST on October 1st, so they'll be in full effect for Patreon-A-Thon.

And remember: If any of these changes to the Patreon and the tier rewards tickle your fancy enough to want to increase your patronage per month, I urge you to make those changes once October begins and Patreon-A-Thon is in full swing so you can qualify for the upcoming giveaways (video on that tomorrow)!
