Hey Im Kirby: FMK, Mash, Lemons, This or That
- ...What?
- So I have no idea what any of this is, or if this is a serious submission
- Like, I know This or That is kinda like 1 Gotta Go in the sense you’re choosing one over the other, which made me think that this was a 1 Gotta Go regarding 1 Gotta Go-like games
- Then I looked up FMK and found out that it’s a company that makes handguns, and now I’m questioning EVERYTHING
- So in the case that this IS a serious 1 Gotta Go... I’m all for gun control so FMK?
- There ya go, Hey I’m Kirby; I turned your joke submission into a political statement
- I can play this game too, bitch. Also, thank you for watching my vids and following me on Twitter
Payton Tarver: Black Panther, Coco, Crazy Rich Asians, Love Simon
- So first of all, how dare you...
- Second of all, I hate that I haven’t seen Crazy Rich Asians yet because that was definitely on my “To Watch in Theaters” list. I’ll have to fix that this weekend
- And yes, fine, I’ll also watch Logan, shut up...
- So I loved Black Panther and Coco.
- Love Simon is a bit of a conflict with me, though
- While I’m well past the point of queer coming out stories making an impact on me personally and ready to see more characters and narratives in media that normalize it, I wouldn’t want to take this away from anyone who needed to see it
- On the other hand, I have very strong opinions regarding the blackmail portion and the way the movie uses the Love at First Sight trope
- Plus, the book doesn’t have to disappear if I choose it, since you only made me choose movies. So “Love, Simon” it is! Ha-Ha, BITCH!
TheBrickRookie: The Lego Movie, The Lego Batman Movie, The Lego Ninjago Movie, The Lego Movie 2
- Out of these four, the only one I haven’t seen is Ninjago
- And that’s more due to the fact that I saw little to no advertising for this bitch and completely missed its run in theaters thinking it wasn’t even out yet
- But given how good Batman’s movie was and how good the first Lego Movie was, I’m just gonna assume that Ninjago was that shit, so it’s pretty much safe from me.
- Lego Movie 2, though... Did we really need it?
- I mean REALLY?
- Sure, the message was good and the way it played out was good, but the first one is still pretty superior, and the only one you REALLY need to watch out of the two
- Maybe if they tweaked a few of the things that I had problems with when I reviewed it, I wouldn’t be so quick to press delete, but yeah; I wouldn’t miss The Second Part if it never existed.
Scott: Matthew Patel, Lucas Lee, Todd Ingram, Roxy Ritcher
- Matthew Patel. M-Matthew Patel
- And I’m not just saying that because I think he’s a chump-ass tutorial boss
- I mean, he is, but that’s not the reason
- Like, if one of the choices were the DJ Twins, I would’ve picked them in a fucking heartbeat, because HOLY SHIT was that portion of the movie the definition of filler
- But the way Patel came off was very incel-ish, and compared to the other evil exes I have to choose from he’s just...not that interesting
- So yeah, Matthew Patel
Michael Scally
- Takahashi Takeda, Cassie Cage, Jacqui Briggs, Kung Jin
- Eh. Takeda can go, real talk
- Personally, I love Cassie and Jacqui too much in MKX’s story, and Kung Jin has a lot of potential being the first bow and arrow character in the game
- Plus, he’s gay, so I feel eliminating him would be a self-hate crime
- Takeda always felt like kinda bland one out of the Kombat Kids, though
- Like, for someone with the potential to be the most well-seasoned dish, he for sure out here reppin’ Karen’s raisin-filled potato salad
- And that’s kinda sad, considering that he’s kinda the Jin Kazama of the current Mortal Kombat timeline; I just have no connection with him at all
- Icon, Rocket, Static, Hardware
- Okay, so first of all, if you thought I was gonna infinity snap away my boy Virgil, then you REALLY need to go to your room and think about what you’ve done.
- As far as who I’d choose, I totally blame DC for it, because they have done such a shitty job in making sure I’m aware of this character’s existence
- Like, I see enough of Icon and Rocket over the course of comics and television so much that I know who they are along with their significance, even though I’ve never read a story with either of them in it. But I have absolutely no idea who the fuck Hardware is
- I assume he’s like-No, let me not do that; I’m just gonna put my own foot in my mouth
- So I want it on record that I’m only picking Hardware not because I think he’s whack or anything, but because my knowledge of him is extremely limited, and I apologize for that
- Neptune & Uranus, Korra & Asami, Utena & Anthy (Revolutionary Girl Utena), Ruby & Sapphire
- So not only is Uranus my favorite Sailor Scout, but I’ve always been a stan for her and Neptune.
- I’ve never watched Legend of Korra from beginning to end, but I know enough about the show to know that her and Asami’s relationship wasn’t ham-fisted
- And everyone even entertaining the idea that Ruby and Sapphire can go ought to be ashamed of themselves
- So we’ve once again run into a situation where my choice revolves around the fact that I’ve never heard of the characters before
- And that’s because I’ve seen the show in question, which in this case is the anime Revolutionary Girl Utena
- Like apparently this anime is queer as fuck and was an awesome staple for gay and trans representation in 90’s Japan, which I’m all for
- It just wasn’t on my radar until recently when I was looking for more LGBT aimed anime to watch after Yuri on Ice
- And even then, it wasn’t one that immediately peaked my interest
- My mind may change after I’ve seen the actual anime for myself, but for now, Utena and Anthy
@1GottaGo
Spongebob, The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park
- So my answer is South Park, and I’m gonna tell you why
- I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with South Park.
- The only real time I watch their episodes is when they have multi-part epics because they’re really good when they have enough time to rely on more than just shock humor and actually plot out shit
- And that goes double for when the subject in question the episodes are talking about are being properly dissected and the overall moral actually means something
- But lately there’ve been moments where I feel the show is doing more harm than good when it comes to a lot of the topics they’re trying to tackle
- And the show has a habit of being in that stubborn-ass headspace where they look at the struggles of someone different than them and instead of trying to understand it or develop empathy for it, they just refuse to translate shit in a perspective other than their own, and it comes off as insensitive garbage 3/4ths of the time
- Also people love Cartman for all of the reasons you’re supposed to hate him, and it pisses me off SO MUCH
- At least Family Guy and The Simpsons are TRYING to get better with how they work their narratives with the steps they’ve made, despite them trying to defend the shit in the past. And Spongebob doesn’t really have to worry about that
- So yeah, I wouldn’t bat an eye if South Park just disappeared...forever. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
