Spider-Man (PS4): Regarding The Raimi Suit Controversy (VIDEO SCRIPT)

Readers, I have legit feelings about what just happened.

Ever since the last DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 was released and the three costumes revealed for it DIDN’T include the Sam Raimi trilogy suit, Insomniac and their social media peeps were just bombarded with harassment

Not only is that incredibly uncool, but there’s just so many better uses of one’s time

Like, instead of berating a company that has brought you nothing but good times for the last few months and hasn’t had any controversies that deserve this type of harassment, you could...read a book

Take a shower

Go to the mall

Take a shower

Watch the ACTUAL Sam Raimi trilogy

Take a shower

So many things

It’s even more humiliating when you know how video games and game developers work

Because they didn’t just make the suit after all the harassment dropped, they legit planned this shit as a free gift for those of us who have the game

And if you don’t believe me, just look on the internet; the webbing’s all on the wall

Sorry, I just had to sneak at least ONE bad Spider-Man joke in this video

But the worst part about everything that happened leading up to this costume’s release that has me feeling some type of way about this, is the audacity of entitlement regarding this entire situation

Which, to Insomniac’s credit, was handled pretty nicely for the most part.

So here’s the reason why I’m pretty upset about this. We were given one of the best Spider-Man games in history since Spider-Man 2, The Movie: The Game

We played it, loved it, laughed at Comicsgate fucks because they were mad Black Cat didn’t look like a pin-up model with her cleavage exposed; it was a good time

But they didn’t have to do that for us, nor are they obligated to do anything else than what they already decided to do.

So when I see people constantly harass this company -- not criticize, harass -- just because one costume isn’t available in the game AT THE TIME, it just shows me how ungrateful and entitled these fucks are, and I’m not letting that shit slide.

Here’s why; fellow minority Readers -- and fellow white Readers that can relate -- you know those “woke” white people that say they’re against racism, bigotry, police brutality, ect.

Yet refuse to check other blatant or passive-agressive racist white people or hold them accountable for their actions?

As a Sam Raimi trilogy fan myself, seeing these entitled fucks go out of their way to do this to a company is something that I just can’t let stand. And not because if I don’t, I’d be no better than they are and lumped up in their horrible-ass bundle as a result.

I can’t let this stand because none of the shit they did online a week ago was right

So to everyone who’s watching this video and participated in making the peeps in Insomniac’s life a living hell for a week

I say as a fellow fan of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, that you don’t deserve this fucking suit. Hell, you don’t even deserve this game, real talk!

None of your nagging and harassment pushed them to make a skin that Insomniac was already planning on giving us for free

And you have done nothing but given a face to the toxicity that exists in not only gaming, but in the comic book and superhero fandoms as well.

You didn’t NEED this suit to have fun with the game; NOBODY NEEDED the suit to have fun with the game

And if you did, well, then, it’s just like Tony Stark said in Homecoming:

Not saying any of y’all participated in this nonsense, I’m just saying be better in general, no matter what’s going on in your life

While it would be nice if it happens on our accord and nothing in particular forces us to do it, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with reflection and growth
