As I have gotten older, I have watched more and more of these hour long drama, "prestige" shows with ensemble casts and no matter how much I enjoy one, they all have the same flaws to me. There is always at least one plotline that is so random or disconnected or just bad and really feels like it was an idea one person on the staff was passionate about or they have to fill in an hour so they just shove in any idea they can. I'm not saying the Lauryn plot is horrible or doesn't make sense, but it is just funny this character who was only in a few episodes is now suddenly pregnant with a supervillain weapons dealer who feels like he and his psycho sister should be fighting Vin Diesel in the next Fast and Furious movie. Then there is also the problem of a character feeling like they are appearing because the actor was contracted for multiple seasons like with Stef. Again, its not egregious or anything, but it feels like he is here just so we can follow and feel bad for another set of kids. I guess it's also because Stef doesn't have to worry about money anymore.

The body is the only evidence, her testimony would be 1 vs 2. It's risky but I think having to hide a second body (Bev) would be riskier.
