2025-09-22 03:16:57 +0000 UTCI'm guessing that Marina gets attacked by her mom and receives the scar when her dad runs off with Shizuka's mom, and that happens in every timeline. Marina getting hit with a broken glass is probably the scene we would have gotten in ep 3 if Marina's mom hadn't realized that Marina (who was actually Takopi) was acting strange. But now that they're friends, they can support each other through the lose of a parent. On the other hand, I don't think Shizuka would attempt suicide in this timeline because she never lost Chappy and she's not getting bullied by Marina anymore. I guess that means Marina is probably getting more emotional support from Shizuka than the other way around, and I think that's really wholesome. I'd really like too see a longer epilog of their weird friendship and how they support each other.

I'm glad Marina and Shizuka found common ground and actually bonded, I know Marina did terrible things but I still felt sorry for her cause she was 9 years old during that time, same with Shizuka. I'm glad the ending wasn't a fully happy one, more bitter-sweet which is perfect for the tone of this show. Fantastic 10/10 for me too.

The lesson of sometimes people just need someone to talk to instead of someone to fix their problems is something I've personally had to learn. Moving from that 10/10 show

That their home lives don't magically get fixed, Azuma probably still has problems with his mother, Marina still gets the scar, Shizuka's mother still isn't present/her father probably will never see her, etc. but there are glimmers of hope through Takopi's influence, even if they don't remember. The main thing I'm happy about is Marina and Shizuka bonding. Therapy in the future WILL be needed lmao If the manga ever does a one-shot to show something more about this trio in the future, I wouldn't be mad at it, but stellar series regardless.
