Seeing the mental and actually getting an understanding of how far the physical abuse went for Arima is so disheartening. His last words to his mother being that he hopes she dies and then she does. There's no wonder why he processed it as his fault especially with no one to talk to about it or support.

Ekko08

whats up with all these weird ass adults talking shit. niggas really be 45 and they opps be 10

Children perceive and absorb so much more than we realize and you never know what kind of lasting impact will be made by what they experience or remember. Powerful messages in this show, & especially this episode. I feel very much grateful for the way my parents raised me. They let me make my own choices at nearly every step (except when I wanted to drop out of high school—thankfully, they shut that down quick lol). They taught me to strive for excellence but never pressured me to achieve it at the cost of my peace or identity. All parents make mistakes —but looking back, I’m thankful that wasn’t one of theirs.

This episode was stressful when I first watched it, not only was it obvious that Arima was going to mess up but we saw his cruel upbringing that got him to the point of not hearing his notes.

Just when i thought the mom may not be bad, just misunderstood i see her hitting her son with a cane lol.
