i have to say i disagree on samurai champloo not working today, good story telling is always timeless. the problem with lazarus is that it sets up the plot too much and you expect it to work on it all the time which is why these side flings dont work. samurai champloo will always work because its about the journey and the vibe, not the destination and tbf first time watching it i was a little disappointed at the end because we're used to different story telling but when i rewatched it i still loved it and appreciated all the small stories that we're told along the way, sorta like in atla, i mean any great tv show is a puzzle and each episode is a piece, some shows build that puzzle chronologically, some in a bit more wilder ways. and atla also very much did that form of storytelling and im 100% sure that this show would work today, i mean you guys watched it a good decade after it released an still enjoyed it and so are people who discover it today, but thats because the plot and resolve was written in a much more satisfying way than here but tbf these arent even in the same caliber of shows

2025-07-04 21:46:44 +0000 UTC8 out of 10 for me I get the discussion but for me wasnβt bad at all this anime is a gem but aye I prefer one more season feel like they should of did more of exploring who axel is honestly but overall not a bad show whatsoever but again that just my take on it everyone different and thatβs ok.
