The cars are different, you got drones and shit, everything looks super polished and futuristic. Completely different aesthetic. If Watanabe said that himself it makes no sense.

It started off with some of the best fight scenes I've seen and turned into a mosh pit of less than mediocre CGI robot fighting. The writing also took a turn for the worst and left a stale taste in everyone's mouth. Once you disappoint your audience like that, it's hard to come back.

It's Beebop-style Watanabe, not TiR-style Watanabe; Beepbop-style was something I was really hoping it wouldn't be based off the plot. To go the action dramady route on a really existential plot is a horrible misfire to me, when it could have been another wonderful psychological mystery show under his name. Basically very disappointed with the direction and tone, but the story is still solid enough to at least watch 1 more episode. Animation quality it whatever
