I literally just started rewatching mha and finished ep 1 before this dropped and how they show deku's mom in that and then seeing her in this first episode when she was more slim, it's awesome. Also I believe this take place 5 to 6 years before deku's story starts.

I am still in the process of learning Japanese so if anyone fluent can confirm or correct me that'd help out: All Might says: "Watashi ga Kita" roughly: 'I have arrived' or 'I came' whenever the subs say "I am here". 'Watashi' in this case, being a more PROFESSIONAL way of referring to yourself. What Knuckleduster says (at 14:11) "Ore ga Iru" (I am here) with 'Ore', a more manly and casual way to refer to oneself being used instead of 'Watashi'. Pretty dope detail (albeit small) considering he is a Vigilante and not a Pro Hero, so his dialogue reflects that.

2025-04-08 01:15:06 +0000 UTCI want to preface this by saying I have not read the Vigilantes manga, so idk if this is even a possibility: About Sheera mentioning Stain at 9:23, I highkey want to see if he plays a part in the Vigilantes storyline. Considering he served as a catalyst for the League of Villains, I always thought he was a really cool character who had a lot of depth that wasnt really, to my knowledge, shown. We know that he admired All Might and killed "heroes" he deemed unworthy, but didnt really find out what made him jump to those extremes in the first place. Also Stain could fall under the broad definition of Vigilante given at the beginning of the ep (at 4:11).

Both their actions were morally wrong but if someone wanted to they could defend them to a degree within the confines of fiction. But something like sexual assault, even in the confines of fiction, is so reprehensible that I don't think it can ever be defended to any degree so yeah your sentence about it not being taken as seriously as it should over there may be true, I dont live there so idk. I just think part of it could just be, i dont wanna say lazy writing, but it just elicits such a strong negative response without having to set much else up. If that makes sense, to me at least

2025-04-07 23:46:51 +0000 UTCthat explanation would work only if we considered it in a vacuum but context matters in stories like the rapist trio here already held koichi at knifepoint twice before they came across pop and those arent defensible actions either but the author still went with the rapist trio route — and not to mention she was basically fine immediately after the sad truth is that it’s just not taken seriously over there, and that manifests itself in more ways than just anime. I know its wishful thinking, but in my opinion authors should avoid those kinds of storylines/characters if they dont know how to write them with tact or care

Even then he breaks his body everytime trying to match opponents that outclass him even after S4. He had to use BlackWhip using his mouth to move around at the end oftthe war arc.
