Tom, though a snake, acts in a way many people would and doesn’t do anything close to the level of shiv. Roman is trash, but unabashedly so. Kendal tries to improve, tho always ends up resorting back to selfishness. Shiv is hated because she has the audacity to actually act like she’s a good person when she consistently proves otherwise. Hypocrisy is an incredibly unlikable trait.

In life, Logan wouldn’t give him much attention and sometimes actively made it so Connor wouldn’t have any sort of access to him, whereas Connor wanted Logan to look at him, be loved by him, spend quality time with him—but of course, he very seldom got what he wanted. And after so many years of being an afterthought, Connor learned to…maybe not accept it, but settle for less, repress, compartmentalize, and/or sometimes ignore his wants from Logan and their father/son relationship. I think that’s why he took the reins on funeral arrangements, because Logan isn’t there to tell him he can’t do it, or make it so he can’t do it. He can finally be with his father, even though he’s already passed, even though it’s a one-way street—yes, Connor doesn’t have as much to do as his sibs, doesn’t have as much going on, etc., but I think that’s the number one reason. So fucking tragic.

Sarah’s main punching bag is her husband who happens to be a fans favorite. I’m not saying they should’ve changed the script, but I will also not deny they make it the easiest to dislike shiv from just pure scene by scene. In the end of the day, actors play the biggest role and there is a reason why Sarah won an Emmy

The writers have made it clear many times that Kendall is a terrible father, and him driving under the influence was swept under the rug. The irony is that, while to a lesser extent, all of them are insufficient and unfit for the role of CEO. Their immaturity prevents them from seeing the truth and making appropriate decisions the exact same way that Connor acts towards his run for president. See how, after Roman is confronted with his fuck ups, brought down to the truth, he is unable to deal with and immediately goes to do something similar to Connor, only to really make himself feel better for his own inadequacies.

Tom was vindicated while also brought to attention about his wrongdoings. Incredible scene, which I believe won them both of their respective Emmys. It was also nice to see Mattson stumble with his words after being cornered with his bullshit. He doesn't seem so untouchable now. Ken now has a upper hand but once again he sees this as an opportunity to solidify his own claim of the thrown at the expense of his siblings, his, arguably, strongest asset. A beautiful episode that shines a light on their toxic nature and self-sabotage. PEAK

For one, I think its one of the best acted scenes in the show, but also, its like this great release of FINALLY saying what they are really thinking. We went 4 seasons where they were never honest with each other ever. Every line they said to each other was veiled in multiple layers of fakeness, and it was finally released all at once.

Instead they were standing pretty far apart, and even though Tom was yelling, he had a pretty even tone, and he wasn't saying things that were mean to just be mean - he had a point in everything he said, and the truth hurts. They really built up their relationship over all the seasons and it was kind of cathartic to see him get all those things off his chest. And yes I'd cry too if someone cooked me like that.
