Each season gets harder and harder to renew, so I would guess they need to wait for sales reports, see if the staff is still interested in working on the show, etc... The anime director also didn't say there wouldn't be any more seasons, I think they just said the broadcast is over, which could easily just mean the broadcast for this season. With anime you kinda just have to be grateful for what you get and we got 2 seasons of peak. I've been reading the Manga and it's just as good of an experience imo. Hopefully the continue adapting though because obviously the animation and voices add a lot.

Sadly with how the VOs/Staff/Author are speaking in twitter this may be it for the anime, at least for a long while, add on to that the lack of ‘previews’ for the next girls. Looks like it was originally picked up for just two seasons. Hopefully it gets a season 3 in the future but even if not, if anyone enjoyed the show READ THE MANGA. It only gets better from here and a there are so many more weirder and quirkier girls in the future. Currently the manga is at 210 chapters and 32 girlfriends so you got plenty to look forward to.
