A lot of people, myself included, thought that by the end of it, we wished there were closer fights between Jinwoo and an another S-rank. The anime is leaving the power levels a mystery, probably to gas said S-ranks a little more and give them some more credit.

Might be some super minor spoilers, but it is explained around this time in the webtoon, so just in case it isnt brought up again: Seeing as they have cut some small details out here and there, imma go ahead and say If you remember them explaining how it usually takes at least one hunter of the rank above (or SEVERAL of the same rank) whatever grade the gate is measured to be (I believe Season 1 ep 8 after defeating Kang), you could extrapolate that an S-rank hunter who is able to clear an S rank gate or dungeon break is above the rest of the S ranks and alone has strength to rival that of a nation hence a "national level hunter". This explanation might not be 100% exactly correct, but I'm trying to work with what material is already known to anime only.

The gap between the weakest S rank and strongest S rank hunter is far larger than the gap between E to A ranks. The problem is that S ranks can’t be ranked properly because their power can’t be measured. That’s what makes them S ranks. So the leader of the Japanese guys is way stronger than the rest of them, but they can’t officially say that because of how the ranking system works. Same with Jinwoo and his father. They classify as S even though they’re way stronger than the rest of the S ranks, and that gap is larger than all the other ranks combined.

In the Manwha the system said he was showing killing intent and if Sung did not end the fight quickly, he would get that "kill the enemy or your heart stops" Notifications. When i read that the first time it was really tense since it would be so crazy if he killed an S rank in front of them all Little extra they skipped from the Manwha. They did not fight in the manwha since S-ranks fighting is just not an option so the "game" was that you had to grab someone wrist or tap their back and they would be out. The anime ignored that and gave us more action. No complaint here :)

This goes in tandem with all the main characters having Japanese name in that version. (Sung Jinwoo is called Shun Mizushino in their version, for example.) So it's very likely that they'll keep all that stuff in the show, because they've already changed the nationalities to not make Japan look as bad as it did in the Korean original.

And they also removed the fight between The A rank guildmaster and the A rank Japanese hunter (it was a completely one sided fight w the Korean A rank winning) they're fight is what actually got the S ranks to battle right after. And someone already brought up the fact the Goto actually tried killing sung so i'll just leave it there.
