Comments

ill get on my knees and beg for you guys to watch fate/apocrypha

Hakushi

i did NOT expect the freshnfit slander lmao W

WarWolf

Oh yeah and a cool detail in this episode is that the OST that plays while Regulus flying through the sky and then sent back down (his death sequence, as it were), is the same OST that played in the first episode of season 2 when Rem announced to Regulus and Lye that her hero (Subaru ;)) would be the one to come and defeat them.

Cancel

"Freshnfit podcast" had me dead. Greed most definitely would lmaoo

Lamine

I thought he was just going to let him die in the coldness of space, but nope xD Sent flying right back through the earth.

The Zany Spirit

In a realistic world, Reinhart and regulus are people who would be stuck in an infinite fighting loop if not for Subaru and Emilia

Guns

Regulus all crunched up in the bottom of the hole Reinhardt made was nasty work, glad that bitch is taken care of though.

Nico

Not gonna lie, this episode was trash, there was so much anticipation on this fight, and this nga regulus was just a loser, like I get that was the point of his character but like why couldn’t they write it to give atleast a little bit of aura, I mean I literally felt no danger seeing this nga on screen bro, he just placed top clowns in all of anime for me

Caleb Gaming9099

Re Zero world's supposed to be flat but those rocks were orbiting the moon implying there's real gravity and not magic world BS, I think we've got some concrete evidence for the globe-earth theory now

Friendly Elites

The Shooting Stars was perfect LMFAO

Easly_Bash

That first throw where he was spinning weird and got tired was because after losing the host heart he must use his own and stop it whenever using his authority to attack or defend and he can only do it for a few sec or he will die but constant of it will over time make him get even more closer to death , also what ever regulus throws what ever it is will travel forever until it hits something its not really a strength thing (like when he threw reinhard) anything he touches is outside the flow of time and space so is his body so you cant out power his attacks with your own defense or out power his defense via strength

Amvdere

That 53 hit combo was nasty 🤭

Dez

What’s crazy is that in the one of alternate paths for Re:zero the author wrote himself called ayamatsu (pride if), Subaru defeated regulus by killing all his wives by burning them to death, then burning regulus in a furnace with his limbs severed. Roshi would make a good Subaru with his mindset.

James

If yall remember that season 2 opening where it shows all those purple hands surrounding Emilia and then the one reaching out to her. That was apparently foreshadowing the whole scene at 16:41 to 17:11. The studio knew about this for that long and season 2 came out in like what 2016. White fox studio is crazy.

Jamie See

his death was more brutal in the books. he only could use his authority 4 seconds at a time. every 4 seconds he felt no pain he he was able to climb up. while climbing up the water started pouring down. every 4 seconds he was drowning. felt like it lasted along time in the books.

Jay

That fight was mid no lie but keep it up rezero do your thing😌🙌

Luhbabytay

No

Luhbabytay

Oblivious, what that mean? Please tell me

Luhbabytay

It depends on the person's compatibility with the Witch Factor or it could be like Geuse where he implanted it directly but was incompatible causing him to go insane. For Regulus he literally just got the Authority one day right before he murdered everyone he knew except for a childhood friend, the woman he forced to be his first wife. My wager is Pandora gave it to the them, I still think Fortuna was resurrected by her and had the Wrath Witch Factor forced into her after Geuse killed her.

Friendly Elites

Absolutely insane that Reinhard hit the Goku standing on Nappa’s head on regulus mid air 💀💀💀

Tyler M.

That was the point. He was busted but such a nobody that even in the end his death was anticlimactic and forgetful.

Diggs

Nah you must enjoy getting blueballed then because thats literally what happened here. This is the wrong way to subvert expectations. Regulas is such a massive let down and disappointment as a villain.

Idris Naama

No there three people in Rezero that could bypass his authority. One of them is Satella.

Wallet

They brought Reinhard because they didn't know what they were up against outside of him being an immovable object. So they brought an unstoppable force. Reinhard was the muscle and Subaru was the brain. Subaru wouldn't have been able to narrow everything down without Reinhard doing the heavy lifting. Half the fight was figuring out how the power works, and the other half was neutralizing that. Reinhard helped find out how it works by following Subaru's plans in a way literally only he could (who else is coming back from the moon, or better yet, checking regulus' pulse?) and Emilia helped Neutralize it through Subaru's intel. they all had a role to play.

Orendi

Also, when Regulus attacks, (like throwing a pebble) he's "freezing" its speed and shape so that it becomes an unstoppable, invincible object that goes through anything it hits. Same when he uses water into those spears or moves his hand to create a blade of air. Has nothing to do with strength.

Kirby745i

Bro, what anime is your pfp? For research purposes of course.

SavvyAlloy

Puck would do it. he would kill all the wives with no remorse to kill Regulus, same with Roswaal.

Wallet

There would be no way to kill Regulus without understanding his authority and how it works. There only 3 people in Rezero that could bypass Regulus authority and one of them you will see next Season and s4 apparently won't be taking years again to animate. Likely see Rezero come back in 2026 or ending of 2025 after this season is over. Satella is one of them.

Wallet

More Crunchy fails.

Wallet

Just for clarity, Regulus' Authority ties his heart to ONE of his brides at any given time. If that bride dies, his heart moves to another one. Repeat until there's no brides left and his heart returns to his chest.

Kirby745i

I kinda love this trope though. Some lucky miserable guy who just happens to stumble upon an overpowered ability and the story hypes them up only for them to end up as jesters. (Bleach and Zelda: Twilight Princess have this too)

Onat Arık

Acting oblivious is not helping your case either

Fizzy

23:00 the way the subtitles matched what was going on 😂😂

sin™

loll reading and Re:zero are a stronger power couple than peanut butter and bread but dw I got you- SHORTER VERSION: If you want to know more about Regulus' past, read the light novel cuz a lotta stuff got cut, but he explains a good amount about his first wife. Also, Crunchyroll sucks fuck at translating and/or just hates Re:zero. we've seen it time and time again this season.

Orendi

Me

Luhbabytay

What a ragebait?

Luhbabytay

That was an intense death omg. Someone finally got a glimpse of what it’s like to be subaru lol

Imari

We know Petelgeuse took it from Flugel to protect but idk about the others. Since they got their names from stars, it's probably something like a fate or chosen thing I assume

Onat Arık

it's about freaking time... and yeah the first time Emilia met Regulus, it took getting packed up by Pandora to take him out of the picture.

Ghost_Dog97

copy, chat gpt, paste, "what this dude say? explain in 4 sentences"

Guns

Re:Zero episode explain-y guy here, yes i read the light novel, yes im bitchless. The part where he was saying "never" over and over before his death was him using his ability to stop his heart for a split second so that he didn't drown only to release his ability because if he didn't, he'd die of cardiac arrest. the time limit kept getting smaller and in the end, even the author doesn't know what killed him first- the water or himself. Emilia didn't remember Regulus because his presence during the Elior forest fight with Pandora was so negligible she didn't remember. His presence was so insignificant, she never remembered him, even after the trial. Regulus can apply his time stop power to suspend physical objects in time. that's how he was able to throw reinhard. its not that he has crazy strength; its just that an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by another object. like the fucking moon😭 Emilia saw Geuse within Subaru because of his connection with the unseen hand, and she could only do so because it was touching her heart if I remember correctly. The reason it was Geuse and not Betelgeuse is because Emilia, in this timeline, never saw Betelgeuse. She only knows Geuse, and views him in a good light. Regulus' rant when he was flung into the sky is like 4 pages with almost no breaks lmao. its his biggest yap yet. And yes, he was insane. always has been. all the archbishops are already crazy whether because of the witch factor they absorbed giving them their powers, like Betelgeuse, or Regulus who was already fucked up to begin with and only had his mentality fortified by his powers. White Fox cut a good amount of his named chapter out but I still think this was a very well done adaptation. Everyone say "ILY White Fox 🫶🫶🫶" In case anyone was wondering, when Regulus said "How do you have the authority of greed!?" it was yet another inconceivable mistranslation on crunchyroll's part and at this point it has to be malicious but that's neither here nor there. The original correct translation done by Muse Asia is "What have you done to my Authority of Greed!? My rights!?

Orendi

nvm he clarified what he said JESUS.

Austin Police

So is Roshi just actually a psychopath or is it just memes?

Austin Police

Well that's anticlimactic af and humiliating for him. They hyped him up so much to the point that I thought it would take an insane amount of fire power and hax to kill him which is what I thought Reinhard was there for but he barely did jack shit besides kick Regulas around a little lol. Subaru and Emilia did all the work. Like whose idea was it to give a busted power like that to an entitled man child???

Idris Naama

What a failure of a rage bait 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Fizzy

I wonder how the archbishops even got their authority in the first place. Did they just happen to stumble on it, or were they chosen for a specific reason?

Krype

who asked

Jazko

We will know once subaru has his authority just as he got bettlejuice's unseen hand i guess

Paunescu

bro literally needed to choose between stopping his heart (which causes heart attack) and drowning. I don't think he's coming back :D

Onat Arık

The reason he got up and threw the rocks but started stumbling around is because he got a concussion from emilia hitting him in the head. This is his first time ever getting hurt so he doesnt know how to deal with it

Pan Cakes

This is definitely up there in terms of getting done in dirty but my favorite is going to be Hidan getting played by Shikamaru in Naruto.

Devin B

Ppl call this peak?

Luhbabytay

damn we got subaru impact frame i was not expecting that lmao

Quentingtf

Emilia is so fucking dope!

Jose Avalos

Huge mistranslation when he says "How do you have the Authority of Greed?" He actually said something like "How are you able to counter my Authority?" Since Emilia and Subaru definitely don't have his Authority😆

Alexander Brown

Fun fact the planet re zero is set on is canonically flat, was hoping they actually showed it.

Daniel arisa

And Just like that Regulus Has Never Killed Subaru :)))) 😂 don’t be confused by his death though Regulus 100% can throw hands with Satella bro just got matched with a nigga that can tell the stars and a planet buster Reinhardt I know he can destroy the planet but idk if he can the universe 😭😂😂😂

FreshxEli Tv

anytime i see them villains "die" in water they always be coming back man lol i know wrath is coming back no way she got packed up like that

Fuji

he's dead dead

Anthony Argueta

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hasnain Khan

Hes not, dw

Dank Memer

I still think Regulas is some how alive considering how hard it was to kill Betelegeuse

Idris Naama

Don’t ever put me in a anime with roshii 😂

SirCapAlot

7:30 Roshi is basically saying fuck the few I'm trying to save the many, Kiritsugu from Fate/Zero would be proud.

Devin B

I’m with roshi on this one 😂 I’m wiping them all out 😭 Fighting Regulus in this verse is literally fighting gojo 😂 KILLLL THAT MF

FreshxEli Tv

rezeroo yessir

Bona Fide

Thank you for this, it was brilliant insight

MgGlenn Etienne

Man this ep was so good seeing guese again made me so happy he didn’t deserve what happened to him

TChang23

The dude would survive a fight with all the strongest people in the verse according to the Author, but he loses here because “underestimates his opponent.”

BZD

Even though its far more gruesome in the LN, i was worried they were going cut too much of his suffering in the hole, I think this was a fair compromise. Having to stop your heart to feel a few seconds of relief from not only drowning but having every bone in your body turned to dust (for the first time in 100 or so years mind you) just to repeat the process over and over and over while imaging everyone laughing you out until it all goes dark. Crazy stuff but satisfying end.

MrOuijaII

Well, at least they didn't throw him off into the water and most likely leave him alive. W Emlia for actually finishing him off most likely

Krype

Petelguese got the last laugh in the end ( I think I spelled his name right ) oh ALSO the author of Re:Zero said that even if Reinhardt missed the moon he simply would have just "adapted" and made his way back down

Nikk

Let’s go

Xander Cage

Those in line for peak to drop STAY IN LINE

naa

Subaru completed a deathless run against Regulus. He’s a real gamer.

BZD

So, Regulus Corneas. The only Archbishop(so far) to get an episode named after them. Let's talk about him. There's actually a bit of cut content regarding Regulus that shows his backstory as a kid. Basically, he grew up in a fairly poor village and his parents and siblings took care of him. They were acts of kindness but Regulus always saw them as acts of pity which led to him having an inferiority complex. He despised his family and those around him for pitying him. So after getting his authority, he wiped out his entire village and even the entire country. Except for his friend who would later become his first wife. But she never smiled at him until the day she took herself out. This is why Regulus doesn't want his wives to smile or change expressions. He's still haunted by the image of his first wife looking down on him in her last moments. I think cutting the details about his childhood out are unfortunate because it's a large part of his mindset and why he always has to get the last word. Why he has to be superior to everyone. He doesn't instantly win a fight when he could because he wants his opponent to exhaust all of their options before they lose. When Regulus curls up in the sky like a child, he's showing that he hasn't changed even once. He still has the same mindset he did as a child. Fitting. His authority freezes his body. But his mind is just as frozen because he refuses to change. In a lot of ways, he's a dark parallel to Subaru at his worst. When Subaru did things and claimed he was being generous because they were for Emilia but in actuality were for himself. When Subaru said she should be grateful to her after everything he'd done and yelled at her for not understanding. Trying to guilt trip her into seeing from his perspective. Subaru grew. Regulus did not. Despite Regulus being one of the strongest characters in the verse, he doesn't ever lead to Subaru dying. Petelgeuse initially took in the Sloth Witch factor to save Emilia and Fortuna from Pandora and Regulus. And now, 100 years later, Subaru uses the Unseen hand ability to save Emilia from his clutches. Regulus hated the idea of being pitied. Of Emilia celebrating his death due to avenging Fortuna and Petelgeuse. But she didn't even remember his role in her life. Ironically, Regulus' last wish came true. He left absolutely no impression on Emilia. Even his title card is white and nearly blends fully into the background. Despite being one of the strongest people alive, Regulus truly left no mark on anyone. Without his authority, he would've faded completely into the background.
