Most of the people in the comments are agreeing because there's "lack of information" about her character when that's literally the case with everybody there. This theory is so nonsensical due to the fact we haven't even touched the basics of what's actual going on. It's like you guys are taking hulk jumps to a theory and aren't even sure of what the fuck is happening. A theory is fine, but because this show sucks at actually progressing things narratively (I binged this shit) we're stuck in a limbo of not knowing what's happening. NOTHING brought this theory on but Randall and somehow Roshi roped yall into it too? When you examine the circle of main characters only (Donna, Boyd, Jim, Tab, Julie, Ethan, Kenny, Victor, Kristi, Jade, Fatima); Donna is the only character within the circle of main characters that nothing ever happens to. That doesn't mean that side characters aren't also experiencing weird shit, they are but they aren't important characters. For Donna to be as integral and important as she is, it's odd that literally NOTHING ever happens to her. She ain't hallucinating, she's not hearing things, she's not having nightmares, the monsters not fucking with her. Nothing. There are several side characters that have had more weird encounters than Donna. That said, I personally don't think she's an opp BUT I also would not be surprised if it turned out she was. There are definitely enough breadcrumbs to justify her being an opp if it turns out that way. But I hope she's not a d I currently don't think she is.

Cause if you look at things, it's usually one person that connected, and anybody with that person gets dragged to this place with them. Of course, there are a few exceptions with multiple connected people coming to this place at once. But my theory is that Donna isn't connected; instead, it was her sister who she came with who died. It makes sense, as this place seems to target the connected people the most, trying to kill them. And my thing with Victor is not me saying he would absolutely know, but that he is very attuned to this place and things that are wrong. He seems to notice the abnormalities and changes in this place more than anyone, which means I feel like if something was wrong with Donna after all this time, he would have noticed or felt something, and you would see that by him either avoiding her or watching her as he does with the trees.

Donna is the least hopeful lowkey so it would make sense them not messin with her. But at the same time she has a connection and knows almost everyone there. That's why it's affecting her the way that it does when people get killed. So in a way I guess they are messin with her. Plus if the town did have an "Alice in Borderland sleeper agent", she probably would've confessed when Randall had her ass tied to a tree or escaped at that point. AND if she was an opp she would've already had so many chances to stat pad her kill count, managing and being so close to most of them. This is what someone said on Reddit and now I have my suspicions: I think she is totally in on it - she keeps popping up on people at the end of season 2, and I agree that Randall suspecting her was a misdirection, in that his gut was actually right. I agree - it's totally a set up for a season 3 plot line. At the end of season 1 - she gives Jim a lot of pushback when he is trying to set up the radio. And she does so before she even has a lot of information - she's just against it from the start. She hears the voice on the radio but is totally against telling anyone. Her origin story is obviously BS in some areas (monsters don't go for the face, people dont really enter the town in the middle of the night, etc) I think the simplest explanation is that she has actually been in the town longer than since 2018. Her sister probably lived with her in the town for a while - thats why a corner of the pic was torn off - bc there was something there that showed they were in the town (maybe the symbol or a Tailsman).

Just one example: In S2, all Jade did go down into the tunnels after the radio tower failure, and get a bit more knowledge about the symbol he was seeing. All other 9 episodes was him chasing and theory crafting. This show does a bad job of resolving tension and doesn't resolve some plot developments fast enough. Also, why didn't Victor or Tabitha tell Jim where she would be going through. Victor said that tree would take her to the lighthouse. There is SOMETIMES an unnecessary lack of communication and definitely a lot of wasted scenes.

Bro I have never seen a group of people go from loving a show so much after season 1 to hating it in such a short time lmao (y'all was hating on it during the intro at least). I mean I felt the same way, writers/directors failed to continue the peak magic and mystery after S1 and I was like bleh just another trash show. BUT I will say hold out, as season 3 finale kinda made me feel like how I felt during Season 1 finale. If you can deal with the dumb bs, and try make some excuses for their behaviour, then you will really enjoy the s3 finale. The excuse I make for their lack of communication: They have all been experiencing fuckshit and visions for so long. This place constantly fucks with all of them, to the point where the fuckery is part of their daily lives. Plus, they've all sorta given up on escaping as shit is getting worse and they have no hope compared to S1 as they don't have as much worth living for, so it could be compared to just trying to grind at work & survive when times get tough. Example is like Tom the Bartender. Jim and Jade had ideas to get out, and Boyd ventured out, more hopeful. But everything turns out to be an L, and after you despair, you just focus on the now, like Tom the Bartender did, not wanting to help escape (eg build the radio tower). Holy yap sorry. EDIT: Also as y'all know Donna had a spider necklace in Season 1 or 2 I think. At the very least, I'm expecting some good animation when a giant spider climbs out of Donna's body lol so should look forward to that in S41

But to set the emotional aspect aside, the reason I think Boyd berating her is justified is because she's not a civilian and has had training. Of course she doesnt have training in human eating monsters, but there's the expectation she shouldn't be wildly missing to that degree due to panic. Boyd has experience in this environment already and shes new sure, but even in the flashbacks when he was new he's still relatively composed bc of his training. And I get military and police officer are not exactly equivalent and some of it (probably a lot of it) is just tension from the scenario but I think a lot of it is justified, even if its unfair

He handled the situation where people were going through his stuff in colony house in not the best way but it's understandable not wanting someone going through your stuff after being stranded in a strange town. He was also one of the first ones to help at when the house collapsed and helping Sarah, Ethan and Julie hide in the bus when the animals got out. He is temperamental but he is willing to help out in team situations if it makes sense to him and you tell him what's up.
