Then again this is all speculation on my part as far as this conspiracy goes so we'll find out as the season goes on.

2025-01-20 11:12:23 +0000 UTCSo my theory is that the new servant girl, the one that helped maomao catch the cat in the previous ep and is all energetic, is actually the new consort who is snooping around as a servant for some juicy topics or in this case targets. How she switched you ask well my other theory based on last season when the emperor made the comment how every time, he interacted with her she seemed different somehow, is because she has been switching with her attendants, so she doesn't have to service the emperor herself. Afterall all her handmaidens seem to be the right height and have the same face structure as her and with her 'personality' being so cold and nonsocial no one would really be able to tell especially with her 50+ handmaidens acting as body doubles as needed.

The way the head lady in waiting was looking has me thinking she's helping her boss in this, or doing it behind her back. Probably gave Maomao more spending money to distract her, while they go ahead with the abortion attempts. Now this is just a theory I haven't read the Light Novels. Could be a ploy to blame her miscarriage on this envoy, probably because it's some potential sutor for her daughter? With the messaging on her possibly going to a far off land for a political marriage last episode, I just had the feeling Gyokuyou might be protecting her daughter. Could also be she has a place in mind for her, just hasn't been able to steer it in that direction.

Maomao didn't directly kill Fengming, she just figured out that it was Fengming that tried to poison Lishu & execution was the only possible outcome for her at that point. There's more to it, but that's the gist. If you want a recap, you can check eps. 10 - 11 of season one.

2025-01-20 01:49:02 +0000 UTCalso she magically appeared when the cat was running away from mao mao and Gyokuyō and the baby and was waiting for them there. she probably put the cat there and kept it just enough to stay alive and make it look like a wild cat cause unless a cat is used to you even if you catch it it would try to get away but it didn't from her.she probably is the spy . hopefully it not any of lady Gyokuyō ladies cause it would have been a long con. it might make sense since knowing Gyokuyō she would know if something was poison but what if she was told it wasn't poison and when confronted the lady in waiting that could be a spy can play the I too was fooled card. and it might not be the purple haired servant girl because if not for her mao mao would not have noticed the smell. this show is amazing they show thing but gives more to think about and the way the end the eps they like playing with our heads

2025-01-20 01:39:46 +0000 UTCRandom theory: The obvious twist in my opinion is someone is trying to kill all of the Emperor’s kids including Jinshi, but another layer is that Jinshi’s attempted murder was supposed to fail because the “bad guy” wants the emperor to eventually have to claim Jinshi as his own to have an heir. Now why they want him to be the heir or the next emperor IDK. Maybe they just want the big scandal. Maybe they think Jinshi would be a good ruler.
