Basically a pun. I've also never seen it pointed out, but there's a fun detail with Gaoshun, who added xiao (小) to her name as a nickname. This is something an older person might do for a younger person, but that ends up giving us xiaomao (小猫), which means "kitten."

I was worried initially with how quickly season 2 was releasing after season 1, but it seems I shouldn't have been. Really excited for what's in store this season. Picked up the manga and light novels after the end of season 1 and the story only gets better.
