The character designs were whack like actually besides maybe the dude with the revolver and the big blue dude but that was it everyone else was trash. The color pallete for the game was whack. The game did not intrigue me in anyway. I find those to be a good reason why the game shutdown after not making back 400m

Character design. gameplay is important for obvious reasons but once you dont have that anymore what are you left with? just character design and most of your playerbase vanishes leaving you with nothing but gooners and perverts. the kind of people who make/consume overwatch nsfw. Right now Marval Rivals has both gameplay and character design; snatching both of overwatch's playerbase along with a new playerbase, Marvel fans and its actually fun to play? thats why its on top

What’s worse is, the gameplay was pretty solid it’s just people were a little tired of the random hero shooter and the internet bros were complaining it was too colorful to diverse (mind you it was a bunch of aliens) etc. then Marvel Rivals comes out and suddenly everyone loves a hero shooter again. But both boring characters and a mostly exhausted genre? That wasn’t going to make it.

I saw some gameplay animator posting their work on twitter as a portfolio piece and the comments are just filled with vitriol and harassment over someone who is LITERALLY NOT AT FAULT for the games character designs
