Rick mentioned what use is she walking around in a fishbowl, while Amada basically said she could live in water, that Nina was smart and reasonable compared to everyone else and could help keep the team together, not that she was a beast or monster in the ocean. Nothing ever alluded to her being like that besides the question as to why she was locked up.

And I'm supposed to be convinced that she'll eventually take out people like Superman and Wonder Woman? I do wish that they had given some indication that her army was more powerful than they let on or had some clues as to the methods that she would use to take over. Because as it stands, the world-ender was taken out by a regular gunshot with her only defense being another gun which I guess is beyond the capabilities of the Justice League.
