Asimov's books, Hyperion, Brave New World, Slaughterhouse Five. Like DAMN YOU IDIOTS WANNA KEEP MAKING SHIT MARVEL MOVIES AND SHE-HULK TWERKING, but you can't invest a few hundred million into shows that would blow everyone's minds perpetually? What is the point of cinema if not to rock us out of our brains with pure art visualized?

2025-01-09 01:20:51 +0000 UTCI'm gonna nerd out hard for this one. I am so excited for Exodus. It's created and directed by the original creators of Mass Effect and Kotor. If anyone wants to get into this universe more, check out the book by Peter F. hamilton, "Exodus: The Archimedes Engine." To start, there are no actual aliens. Everything in the centauri cluster is of Terran Origin. Some of the more inhuman or monstrous lifeforms you see are humans evolved and genetically engineered over about 30,000 years. That bald Celestial we saw was a member of the Crown Dominion. They still resemble humans, but have evolved a sort of biological immortality via mindline. They all have neural induction pads which allow them like, telepathy, with each other and also technological access. Crown Celestials don't give live birth, the mother produces a clutch of eggs and the father carries them in a marsupial pouch, and whenever a Crown celestial is going to die of old age, they subsume the consciousness of their chosen child and its added to the mindline and they become their children/their children become them. It's super freaky, but this is just one of the factions they created, and arguably the most normal and tolerable of humans.
