Like Roshi pointed, the direction was incredible, to the point where I really thought Blue Lock was going to lose once the screen got wide and Sae started Saeing. That's a great example of how to make the viewer feel what the characters feel. The dispair of seeing their best player have the last ball and not being able to stop him, Rin's mind break, the adrenaline after Isagi's goal, the hype while hearing the fans chant Isagi's name, even Ego's fist clench. Man's hopes were hanging on a thread.

Isagi lost to rin in the 2nd selection bc Rin understood what ‘luck’ is and after learning about it from him and Ego Isagi was able to get the game winning goal with ‘luck’ Sae tried to beat Rin with the EXACT same move(s) he used when they had their 1v1 in the snow, Rin lost back then but won here and u can even see the realisation on Rin’s face right before sae tries to nutmeg him. All the characters in BL learn from their encounters no matter what (Rin/Isagi being the focus rn tho) and I love the self awareness of these characters
