He was a layout artist, not an animator. A layout artist helps with figuring out camera placement from a technical standpoint in 3D animated shows, as well as choosing things such as the ‘lens’ used by the camera. He didn’t touch any of the animation, vfx, sfx, music, etc, on this episode. In fact most of his work was in the very early stages. He was one of 6 layout artists. I wish people would stop repeating misinfo about his involvement in the Secret Level episode lmao.

To answer a few questions: This does take place after the game! Lupa is right to notice the four bolts, and also we see Titus' helmet now has the laurels of vitory he won at the end of Space Marine 2 decorated on it. The reason the animation looks so unbelievably clean is because the guy who made the Astartes mini series on Youtube, Syama Pedersen, was one of the key animators for this episode. You can find his name in the credits. The black space marine we follow is Metaurus, a Bladeguard Veteran Sargeant. Just thought you might want to know.

Fun fact the creator of astartes syama pedersen worked on this as a layout artist. For context this takes place right after space marine 2 being the mission they sent titus on. He became part of a bladeguard veteran squad which are part of the 1st company. The best of the best of a chapters melee fighters with centuries of experience between each other. They stand next to the vaunted terminator and sternguard squad. That priest dude is a psyker, humans who can channel the warp to shoot electricity or fire outta their hands, mind control people, cast illusions, etc and they came in different grades of power for example the emperor was a psyker strong enough to challenge gods. Sadly for some reason they cheaped out on this one he wasn’t strong enough so they ended up losing most of the squad which again are made of the best melee fighters its not cheap to replace them.

Cool thing: The creator of the Astartes video (13-minute Fan Animation) was the layout artist for this episode. Also, this takes place after SM2, and my personal headcanon is that this is the mission Leandros sent you on at the end since it has an Absolute mortality rate. He is a top-notch hater after all. And in case you didn't fully understand it, the main enemy was some sort of chaos psyker that worships Tzeench and basically used a spell to use the space marines' fears against them. The first one can be interpreted as afraid of losing his humanity or what he is without his armor so basically identity. The sergeant's fear is Titus becoming a chaos marine. And Titus has no fear.
