Remember Yanagi wasn’t even part of the friend group until way later on after Miyamura and Kyoko were already dating. In their imagination, the entire friend group came together first AND THEN later they met each other. Which is why they said that they think that no matter what happened or in what order events occured, they’re sure they would have met somehow someway in any life/alternate world.
