I think for a "zombie show", it really lacks what makes zombie shows entertaining to watch for me personally. Like compared to "All of us are dead" or "train to Busan", Kingdom is not even close in terms of an interesting story. But then there is also the weird plot armor that happens in the show, especially the end of s2. Weird plot armor + characters making stupid decisions + lack of interesting plot + lack of a good villain to answer your question.

As long as he is technically breathing they can do what ever they want. The physican as well, his actions are based on formality,tradition etc. Even though he knew something "supernatural" was going on he can't fully let go of his ways (social norms of burial). hence why he brought the body back

There would be a big difference for them to know whether the King is undeniably just a dead corpse vs. the King being given this strange plant called "resurrection plant" that revives him and he is able to move at night, but has "lost his mind." The King's body (corpse) being able to move WITHOUT having the concept of Zombies would be enough for them to mentally justify (for themselves) that they are not lying, and that the King is *Technically* still alive, since the body is able to move on its own. (The term "Undead," referring to Zombies has not been coined yet, lmao.) So that is why they did that, and now we know why the Queen wants to keep the Prince away, since he is illegitimate, while she is the actual Queen, and she wants to pass off the King as being "alive" until she gives birth to a legitimate Heir. The only actual issue I can think of is IF the Queen doesn't give birth to a boy, because that is when all of this would have truly been for nothing.

But yes, I imagine it was a combination of him keeping silent as ordered and expecting the people to prepare the funeral as he instructed, thus resulting in the body being buried or burned before anything could actually happen. Instead that need for food struck first.

2024-11-23 00:35:32 +0000 UTCYes and no, in terms of the Royal family storyline, yes it does have a conclusion but the resurrection plant lore does not, season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, the movie, Ashin of The North doesn't really explain much other than the backstory of a certain character, from what I know, there's been no news on a season 3, I hope there is.

So they've been taught from birth about how important the royal family is and such, it probably just felt 'wrong' to them to have the king be dead and not announce it. For example they could also have just lied that the queen's baby was already born, or killed the crown prince, it's not like the peasants would notice. But instead they're going through the 'proper' steps and only went after the crown prince after being given a cause for it.

And two, I think that the physician wouldn't have guessed that they would resorted to cannibalism. I also think he didn't know that it could spread through bites because they usually dump the bodies that the king bitten into the pond.

In the journal the physician had written that there is a cure we can find. The guy in the box is the physician and they wanted to cure him as well so they locked him up

If they announced the king was dead then the power would go to the crown prince first because he’s a son and he might not relinquish power to the unborn child if it’s a boy when it’s born.
