Yeah cause I'm sure epic grandoise speeches like Erwin's from AoT would be well received in real life and would actually convince everyone to literally ride their horses into imminent death. It's almost like having a suspension of disbelief is lost to some viewers. Also Lupa isn't getting slack cause he's always trying to find ways to be salty watching this show and it's getting old at this point. Like it's obvious he doesn't like ReZero since everything goes over his head. Lupa had no point he's just a S+ tier Subaru hater. Subaru was put on the spot to give a speech to inspire hope in hopeless situation to everyone which isn't an easy feat. He also clearly had stage fright so he wasn't entirely confident on what he should be saying but as the speech goes on you see Subaru starts becoming more confident and starts talking more coherent which in turn made Subaru more relatable to the public mass. I appreciate the realism in Subaru's character because most teenage neets in real life are not great public speakers.

I love how we've seen a very natural character progression when it comes to Subaru, it hasn't always been an upward trajectory but he's finally leaning into his responsibilities in this world. It may have flown over people's heads, but he just announced himself to all of the archbishops, including Glutonny, despite knowing the implications. Also, i didn't really deep how bad of a situation it would be if Subaru was erased without his memories, all his relationships destroyed, all of the closure from the past gone, it really would be the "true" death after everything he's gone through

Before I rant, is there anyway you guys can watch the video about how everyone else sees Subaru without him dying. I think they edited the video to be in the perspective of the world rather than the watcher. It will give you a different viewpoint as you watch the series. I think people had a misunderstanding on why people hyped up this speech, people like to compare against Erwin’s amazing speech or others, but what this speech showed me is that he’s just a regular dude like everyone else, but they are given hope that even weak and scared people can defy those against you/him. If I would have gotten you regular heroic speech, I would have brushed that off, fell to despair, because I would feel it’s easy for a person who can go up against these villains to say we can fight than a person who can’t.

Al is kinda taking the same approach that Roswaal took last season and basically telling Subaru to abandon everything else aside from Emilia. Like Roswaal, he also underestimates Emilia and doesn't understand why she isn't being scared or feeling helpless. And Al also kind of repeats what Roswaal told Subaru at the end of S2. That choosing to shoulder the burden of everyone would be nearly impossible. But Subaru decides to do it anyway because that's what he has to do. Also, side note. Otto has really been coming in clutch. In S1 he helped Subaru reach Emilia in time and helped stop Petelgeuse. In S2 him not being in the tome helped Subaru stop Roswaal's plans. And now he's brought the strongest card, Reinhard, into battle.
