That’s what an anti-hero is…. So point still stands. She likely did kill some criminals and a few homeless, and she would have put a lot more people in danger if she sold bliss as an operation. Here’s an interesting detail. Throughout the season, Eve has dressed up for Oz and others to be what they want her to be. We got the scene when Sophia was at her house with the wigs and the wardrobe. We also got her at the end with Oz. I didn’t peep till someone pointed out that Eve full name is Eve Karlo, which is interesting because one of Clayfaces names has been Basil Karlo. I think Eve is Matt Reeves adaptation of Clayface in this universe.

I think the main reason Oz killed Vic was that he wasn't useful anymore. Oz's priority is himself and everything else is a third concern at best. Based on what I know about him from the comics, that's right in line with what he does. He's a criminal psychopath, right and wrong are just words to him. It's also why he's lowkey Batman's biggest threat. He knows how to play the game.

Honestly I don't even think that's the main reason. He probably did care about him, but he also watched Vic do great without him, organize his escape, and convince the lieutenants to help him. Just like he said, everyone wants to be someone and they can't do that in someone else's shadow; he thought some day, Vic was gonna do that to him, so he felt he needed to take out the competition.

The hardest part about watching their reaction to oz killing Vic is Sheera. The realization what’s about to happen. Hearing her start to break. I've been waiting for this since Sunday night. I literally joked when Vic said "I've been with you the whole time." and was like "until now." Then Oz fucking killed him. Bruh. I called this in episode 1 with the Jason Todd analog but I literally forgot about it. I loved Vic. Goddamn man. I thought at the end where Penguin was in court saying he needs to be "different" and "clean", he was going to have his name changed from Cobb to Cobblepot to remove any ties he had to the mob and start with a new identity. Not as the poor gangster Oz Cobb, but the rich mob boss Oswald Cobblepot. This show was the best show of 2024 period. One of the best comic book TV shows I've ever seen. They did a fantastic job of making him a VILLAIN. Matt Reeves is 2/2 so far. Or technically 9/9. I can't wait until The Batman Part 2. They added so much depth to the universe that I'm kind of sad this isn't connected to the new DCU. Maybe they could still change that and say it takes place in the past. Peak. I could go on and on about the writing in this show but I'm too tired lmao. What a great use of the Rex Calabrese character, who appeared for like a year in the comics and then was never used. Earlier this year the Penguin stabbed an umbrella through his sons chest in the comics and killed him, so him killing Vic tracks.

(btw i know reeves and others have spoke about batman NOT being in the series from early press) my in universe theory is.... he was on bedrest/a major stint of pysio therapy w/ alfred. hear me out. that shotgun blast fucked batman up at the end of the batman 1. remember he took that green serum that ppl think is bane venom from the comics just to beat that final goon. but he was completely immobilised, it took all his strength to just reach into his pocket to take that serum and shoot it into his system. i think a couple times after helping flood victims onto stretchers and helping others in the direct aftermath of the 1st film, the adrenaline boost probably wore off from that juice shot, and he probably sucuumbed to some heavy injury because of that shotgun blast to the chest. the start of penguin is a week after batman 1 to the end where its a few months later. i could see bruce on bedrest struggling to be in full form, and eventually after some months doing the pysio/ultimate ninja training to get back in shape w/ alfreds help(bc by this point, alfred wouldve healed from his own injuries also after being hospitalised). the events of penguin s1 probably happen inbetween. by the time battison is ready to go out at night again, its probably coincides w/ the end of this season w/ the epic batsignal shot in the sky by the skyline. but...fair enough if you think that sounds stupid. its just a theory.
