My dad served in the 70s and he said many times that if a war had broken out on the peninsula, he would have shot his superiors first before shooting any North Koreans. His reasoning was that the North Koreans had never starved and hazed him like his superiors had.

For example, when Hwang Jang Soo said sorry, if you knew Korean, you would know that he wasn't being sincere at all. You guys did nothing wrong, though. It's just unfortunate that things like that can't transfer over easily.
