It was already pretty good/ top tier for its time before DS/ JJK/this. But the story is more spread out than this as other reactors have pointed out. This season is what Danmachi wanted to be. But it came out when anime/manga had to spread stuff out more for sales reasons. So its a tab bit slower than this all gas season

Maybe at the end of this, whenever they defeat whatever the fuck is behind that barrier in the sky (on some gurren lagan type beat) hundreds of years will pass, magic starts disappearing (leaving room for more warriors to exist) and gods will appear from above the barrier and start to live on top of the tower, who knows.

Maybe he is a half though. Instead I think that there are maybe two types of humans that they categorize into 'wands' and 'swords'. I also think that there's some sort of silent war going on. Like the elves and dwarves had to flee their worlds to come to this one, the magia vander have sealed the sky to protect from what they called the Host, which is sometimes used in fiction interchangeably with Celestial Host, which are basically the armies of heaven. I think the wands protect from heaven and climb the tower, and the Finn tribe guides the swords and they protect from hell, or the dungeon, seeing as how there's demons down there. Just some theories, cause there's lots of mystery going on which is fun.

So it kinda makes sense why Ed would have it in for Will, since his not making it to the top of the tower would be VERY recent, but it also makes the Will and Workner relationship odd since it’s been giving father-figure vibes but they’re only 10 years apart in age.
