The way I interpreted the son’s situation at the end is that he really took his dad’s words to heart. His dad said that he was small and weak and that he wishes he would have appreciated who he was as a person even before becoming a robot. At the end he is on the ground but we also see the bullies walking away crying and injured. To me this showed that the son now has pride in himself and his family to the point that he is willing to fight back against his bullies

i think what happened to his daughter is after he started giving her cpr it was working and brought her back to life just enough to use his healing powers to get rid off all the smoke inhalation so she could actually breathe and fully revive. cause if he didnt do that cpr alone would be enough to deal with the level of smoke she inhaled. she wouldve come back not able to breathe and just suffocated again.

I don’t know if anybody else feels the same but I think the whole asteroid situation was orchestrated by the aliens to cover up their error. Best case the weapons realise the only way to stop the meteor is self destruction and worse case the planet is eradicated but the weapons alongside it and the technology isn’t in humanities hands anymore. The weapons also couldn’t just run cuz they need water to fuel so it’s the same as dying. Just seemed so convenient that the asteroid came so closely after aliens made contact lmk if I’m tripping idk😂

I think Hiro being a tragic villain works, not from the perspective of him being magically redeemed by sacrificing himself, but because, in the end, he realized what actually made him enjoy life (again? for the first time?) was being around people he cared about. Which he completely shot in the foot by going on his murderous rampages. Something he legitimately couldn't comprehend because of his sociopathy. He got a rush from killing so he kept doing it because it made him feel human. But he never could have understood how doing such awful things would hurt those he cared about because it's something he literally couldn't conceive of or understand until he saw it happening. It rings true 'cuz like, a lot of real life sociopaths end up doing very poorly and end up in jail or ultimately isolating themselves because of their inability to perceive most others of being people. And if u wanna relate to that, just think about how the average person is completely fine with the mass animal death we engage in as a society. There's no special quality about humans that make us different from animals, but it's our innate quality to perceive that as being the case that makes us draw that line. Something his brain just completely lacked.

Small detail the anime doesn't make super clear. Hiro's calculations were correct. They were enough to shift the asteroid... so it would hit the ocean and Japan would largely be spared the damaging effects. Everyone else woulda still been fucked though.

Ok now I'm even more sure: This really is just basically Reversi from Bakumon, if with Robots instead of Demons, especially either this ending. Neither of them in either story added anything positive honestly to the life of the world; inyushaki's outlook already existed before he got turned into this, but for everything he did positively there was also a lot violence caused by him too. This logically leads to both stories coming to the conclusion that the ending will only feel complete when everything is back to normal, by killing off both main characters in each story. No one is happy about their deaths in either story either, as sometimes a resolution is painful and just. This was a very well executed story, with extremely compelling but simple characters, and I'm so sad I never saw it sooner or while it was airing due to CGI prejudice from me😩

IMO I think the fact that these two characters who doubted their humanity/existence before they became robot started so differently but both sacrificed themselves in an act only someone/something with humanity could do. Small detail the anime doesn't make super clear. Hiro's calculations *were* correct. They *were* enough to shift the asteroid... so it would hit the ocean and Japan would largely be spared the damaging effects. Everyone else woulda still been fucked though.
