I think Wanda dying in Multiverse messed with the spell...not ending but it lost some of its effectiveness/power. Now enters Aubrey Plaza character and the teenage boy both trying to unlock her. She was still playing her role the reason why she being all dramatic. Folks say this episode was based off a tv show Kate Winslet is or were in called Mare of Easttown

It’s mostly has to do with magic and witches. I recommend watching WandaVison as this could get confusing. But the gist is that Wanda died in the previous movie Mutiverse of Madness and before that she emprisoned Agatha in this town with magic before she died.

This stuff has been "just along for the ride" tier for a while, it's more surprising for something to be really good than just ok. But it's usually pretty fun.
