Vegeta is a bad example on my end. Also Hiro did endure a broken home life. His dad left his mom and made a whole new family staying with his mom who is broke so he's technically living in poverty and probably holds resentment for his dad living happy while he watches his mom in constant suffering.

He doesn't understand the relationships and values of other species and was literally raised to kill/conquer. Once he got to live on earth and had a family of his own he started to become a lot more compassionate. I'm also watching this for the 1st time but from what we know right now, Hiro is a human from Earth who had a pretty decent family, upbringing, and friends but chooses to kill innocent people for basically no reason.

Now he wants to turn it around because sadly he was a dude who felt nothing and unfortunately came across a random suicide that sparked joy in his heart. He dies, resurrecting with a crisis only to find killing still brings him joy bit the power of love stops him and y'all are ... disappointed? I'm sorry but ANY reason or motive to make a psycho murderer stop killing is a good reason. I mean this was his second attempt, his first being when he asked his mom about the murders and her response motivated him to stop.

Vegeta did, but it's only completely unfair for him to have found it after doing everything shitty he has. Bardock wasn't ever perceived as a good person, who's only redemption is saving their kid (might have the wrong Bardock in mind while writing this). Basically saying, these redemptions you state happen, aren't really redeeming anything they've done previously
