So I assumed it was a career that required him to be away for long periods of time (travel photography?) but still not make enough money to completely take care of his family which is why his wife has to work. That combination alone is a good reason why Hori would be resentful.

She has his color scheme and Hori's eye-shape and expressions (and hair length). You can kind of see how similar she looks to Hori around 18:55. But yes, it does help to drive home the sibling dynamic between her and Miyamura. She sees her brother in him, and he sees a child-like Hori in her.

He can only look so unique compared to his love interest with his pretty fade and eyelashes so it wasn't a surprise to see a haircut...this is what happens when you start reading mangas in high-school like ouran host club and learn this stereotypes dear god its scary.

Even though there's a lot of people that have the same eye and hair color, sometimes they'll make the character look like a mix between the two to make it seem like "this is what their future child WOULD look like"
