Comments

Ayo close your mouth

BlueMop91

Noo way that is her!!

Zion Noland

ur innie goes crazy and fks ur mental that has to affect u on the outside… if not mentally, what if it manifests as self harm on the inside

yozo

I’m flashing my ass day1 and getting fired ✌️

yozo

What the Ju Di of ba sing se is going!? She is even asian wearing a green dress 😱. Straight up brainwashing. At first i thought it was a program just made to create the perfect employee. Now im thinking its something more...SINISTER

rickie woodson

Honey dew is DELICIOUS. i will not stand for this blasphemy madam 🧐

rickie woodson

Why bro look like diddy

xProKnockz

It's actually the exact opposite I thought he was an idiot who would tend to overexaggerate with his backstory but now I see horikoshi cooked with his character. I thought why would anyone fight themselves but helly showed me why.

Leo

we get it bro you like Twice from MHA. You said hid=s name last comment section

SixPathTobi

The intro gave me heavy Westworld vibes with the piano piece and everything also was that ol girl from Animal kingdom hope she's in this more she's amazing.

Leo

This show is crazy I never could relate to how twice from my hero academia lost it but now I understand bro didn't even know if that was the OG him so I wonder if that's the road petey going down. I kinda want to see the reversal procedure he went through.

Leo

Bro Irving was slowly getting his system 32 deleted

Brandon Rodgers

Oh damn who that girl that called Irving

KingKai _

Not too much on honey dew… it’s the best fruit

Giyuu

1 of the most satisfying, nice Intros I've seen on newer shows.❤️ @14:51 omg not the "work" icebreaker circle, I loathe it.

Elle E.

I’ll definitely have to pick up altered carbon! I heard it was pretty good!

Delinda Arts

Dichen Lachman! I love when she's in stuff lmao. She was half the reason I watched the first season of Altered Carbon.

Bria A.

Patricia Arquette is in soooo much shit lmao. She'll always be Kate Barlow to me tho

Bria A.

The entire concept of this show is like if they turned the idea of a “night person” from Rick and morty and it became a fully realized idea lmfao. Like in theory it sounds great but when your alter ego doesn’t like to do the work anymore you can’t be mad when they try to take their body back 💀.

Imari

I was never really able to viscerally internalize the idea of not existing until this show pointed out that if the employees quit it would be as if their work persona would "die." So simple yet so bizarre, especially because the body would be alive but a persona would be disposed of. Just brilliant stuff!

Thulani Mason

I love shows like this that provoke so much discussion.

Hollow

lol it reminds me of when apple made apartments at their work a long time ago

saiki k.

and from a show called medium

john segun doe

just realized thats Kissing Kate Barlow from Holes lol

Tj Denby

I think that Helly seeing the scary numbers is a psychological sign that her mind is submitting to the work life. The numbers were all in a box which is what she's stuck in. Another thing is would they be able to detect if you wrote a note on your body? That's what I would be doing.

Corey Leach

hey, I've been commenting for Severance for years. They will 1000% watch Dark one day there's no reason not to

Zero

they NEEED to watch Dark but I know they'll never do it

General Crisp

hell nawl😭 every interaction is important regardless if we want to or not those 8 hours change ur life drastically. the show just doesnt show it that much or to little at all

DatKid_Kaneki

we NEED dark reaction after this.

DatKid_Kaneki

been WAITING for this! now only Dark and Silo then I'll be satisfied

Zero

actually if they paid me a billion then i would lol work at lumon

saiki k.

nah i rather work at chilis than do that lupa and sheera had my same reaction

saiki k.

bruh I’ll make it clap for more of these episodes please 🤲 thanks for the reaction

roach

Sometimes they can try to predict stuff a lil too much rather than just take in information for what it is. Then they end up gaslighting each other with info and dialogue they heard wrong😭

DsWorldd •

It’s not gonna be as appealing when it turns out you now live life from the perspective of the enslaved, autopilot version of yourself instead of the free one😂

DsWorldd •

50:30 Ngl I think Sheera might be cooking because it feels like they would be the type of company that wants explore human behavior for marketing and recruiting purposes.

Jett33

listen bro drop all the other anime and just shell out this show only

Ashton Rubery

That's how you know a show is great

TheHud257

No, it's pretty fucked up. You're enslaving a version of yourself to avoid the hassle of remembering work.

Louis Kalman

Sounds good babe

AnnaSama

A fair question for all us would be would you do this though cause going on auto pilot for 8 hours don't sound to bad depending on what your job is if we being honest

Tremaine

End stage corporatism, not capitalism. Capitalism is trade & industry owned by private owners, free market. Corporatism is the control of the state or an organization by large interest groups, AKA Cyberpunk 2077 or Lumon who controls a large part of the country's working base it seems.

TheDroppedFry

One of the best shows I’ve ever watched, it only gets better

MayvaAva

???

Common Sense

The Stanley Parable: The TV Show

melloburner

So apparently the computers they use don't have an "Escape" key...

WAFFLETITS

ummm cantaloupe and honeydew is delicious

john segun doe

i truly forgot how gorgeous the girlfriend and the wellness director are gosh.

Delinda Arts

i need to see the paycheck they getting if im getting drilled in my head imma need like 10k a hour cuz F that

Reckless Company

No fr, I love sheera and her showin off the sheerangan but she’s reaching for tiny straws in this show and then locking onto them as if they were obvious but it just makes her miss the actual obvious connections for you to pay attention to 😭

Kale

Exactly! And that’s not a bad thing. Usually I already know Sheera is the first to dissect and hit it right on the mark. But with this show, too much dissection just makes you more confused and takes away from the quality of the show. I don’t want people to come for me. I’m not trying to be mean at all. It’s just this show is so SO good and this is my favorite reaction group. I just want them all to pay attention and enjoy it as well 💕

Mystie

They just have to stop trying to find singular solutions or explanations, sheera keeps seeing something and Immediately thinking it connects to something it doesn’t connect to 😭

Kale

I don't think they are working on ANYTHING. I think they are being studied. Maybe they are trying to figure out how much you can get a severed worker to do and how horribly you can treat them before they break. End stage capitalism shit.

AnnaSama

Lmao, the Severance intro is very specifically not AI — Ben Stiller hired a German artist known for this type of CGI style. It’s really cool, actually.

Bria A.

Yeah you know what working at Walmart isn’t that bad bro. 😂

WATCH NARCOS

lewthefoo2

Damn.. is this Elon Musk in the future?

MajorMomScream12 .

If y’all can watch this, can Succession be next?

Sheraya san

the numbers aspect of their job is a trained psychological fear response. Its a real thing you can trigger with something as subtle as a subliminal message. It usually requires a long period of keeping your subject sudated while youre basically programing their brain to create the emotional response you want. Its some Lobotomy era shit

Godrick

Version 1: i consent to doing this Switch to Version 2: wait what i do not consent to this (this show in a nutshell)

Naw1n

Dark matter book was sooooo good! There's a TV show too?

User100

This might sound crazy- but I was re-listening to this great podcast called Limetown and I don't know why but it reminded me of this show and the podcast was also produced by apple. My crazy theory is that the two series could be connected or i could just be looking to deep. I like my theory though.

Joshua Cato

This show is kinda like the show Maniac with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill

Quel Hilfiger

There is a lot of underrated shows on AppleTV like Silo, Dark Matter or Foundation (book readers hated it think).

radeb

I thought Lupe Fiasco was about to start rapping at the end lmao.

Tuny kun

I hate that anything surreal or absurdist is gonna get labeled as "AI" now.

Anthony Lazarin

Sheerah, I love you. I love you SO much and how you think is amazing. But for a show like this…you just gotta sit and pay attention 💕 Like I love how Roshi is staying on the dialogue and the rest of the gang REALLY has to pay attention to it too. Again, not trying to be rude or dismissive. I fucking love yall, but this show might require a lot more attention than what you’re giving 😭

Mystie

nah yall made me watch the whole season 1…. super peak wtf

Emmett Diggs

Now we see why Mark wasnt allowed to watch Helly leave, cuz he wouldve seen Milchik in the stairway telling her to go back in and it wouldve shattered the illusion that they come back because they want to. Theyve been told that if they ask to leave 3x theyre allowed to leave but theyre not, theyre manipulated into go back inside. First episode Sheera said theyre trapped but not really cuz their outie keeps choosing to come back everyday. But if the choice is founded on lies and manipulation, is it really a choice? They come back everyday because they dont know what theyre doing or whats happening to them on the inside. Important info is deliberately withheld and they are actively lied to to ensure they make the choice they want them to make. The choice is an illusion, that stairwell scene perfectly displayed how they are in effect trapped cuz the innie does not get to make the decision to quit. Only the outtie gets to make that decision. Thats what makes it a perfect system, they dont need to withold the resignation request from the outtie. They know more often then not, the outtie will never make the decision to quit because they dont know whats happening to them inside so as far as the outtie is concerned, they dont have a reason to want to quit so the requests are always denied

Alexis Sullivan

This was great

Azula

I was about to say he speaks so calmly yet is so unnerving when he’s displeased. Even the way his character smiles is intimidating

PJ Rivera

Shout-out to Tramell Tillman, dude is so good at playing just the corniest company man here while also adding that layer of intimidation when he needs to

Carlos

seems like that girl is putting subliminal in Irv subconscious. So if he does fall asleep these subliminal wills influence if he does dream. The respective phrases and the relaxing atmosphere gave it away.

K Jack

The opening immediately reminded me of the game Inside.

Carlos

Contract language. You think a mega corp is gonna fuck around with letting you make your own off the cuff statement?

Carlos

I wonder if they sleep at work "memories" will appear. Also one of the rules said to check co-workers lunches, which, why would that need to be done if there's something to detect if anything has been smuggled in?

Yoori

Lupa brain. That's how. 💀

Tejiri Ubiedi

ahh lads, the sheeragan is struggling with this one

Mrlanie

Why do I feel like they work in someones brain, like a spin off to "Cells at Work"

Huemon Nottabear

Wouldn’t it be like split personalities

xProKnockz

It only gets better, this shit is insane

Khyan

They can deadass be doing human experiments on the indies and as long as the outties don’t have physical wounds. The outties would never quit, that shit scary I don’t know how anybody could sign up for that type of job

Tellyg47

alright alright. I'll admit i was crying for Succession but these last two ep have been peak omg

Moisty Justice

Episode 2 really dives into the whole idea of identity by showing how these "innies" are basically trapped versions of themselves, cut off from their other half. It makes you think about what really defines who we are. The show takes this extreme view on work-life balance where the characters literally can’t remember their personal lives at work and vice versa, which is kind of a mind-blowing way to point out how much work can take over our lives. Then there’s the whole creepy surveillance vibe at Lumon Industries, which feels way too real with how companies can track everything we do. The way the "innies" and "outies" are disconnected also hits on how people sometimes shove away trauma, almost like severance is a metaphor for not dealing with tough memories. And on top of all that, the episode throws in some deep questions about what life even means when you’re reduced to just doing one thing all day, every day. Overall, it’s a pretty wild and unsettling look at how far things could go if we let work control us completely. [Also: Day #2 of recommending Roshi Crew to Check out ‘Foundation’ on AppleTV+, y’all wont be disappointed. :) ]

TAY

The medical horror in this episode was so good

aj

One thing I still find weird from the first ep is why was Helly reading from an index card? If you really agree to this, wouldn't you just say it without having to write it down?

User100

sheera is throwing out constant theories that are always wrong even without future knowledge and just cant move on. One of many: If they were deleting parts of themselves then why have they not noticed any changes in each other over the YEARS they have been working there. Like even if you wanna say that their memories are being constantly wiped, Petey on the outside said he didn't know what they were doing and since he has all his memories back that would be noticeable. Glad roshi is seemingly on top of the dialogue in the show and helping to dissuade some of the wild ones lol. Like the idea that the wellness session points leads to the break room.

mason zeo

"It's giving Ai" How bruh

Michael Blake

Roshi is built different 3 mins in he's just staring down the procedure I had to look away 😭

Kisuke01

I binged this show after watching your reaction and man. You're in for a wild ride. It's also awesome rewatching stuff when you know what you know

Cuban Macaw

Its still crazy sheera called it so accurately on the stairwell ep1.

PJ Rivera

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hasnain Khan

Yes Sir!!! Let’s keep it goin.

Rcola25 Jr

I agree with Sheera’s theory. Like it’s not so simple to quit. I also think like because of the catch 22 of it that’s part of what makes you stuck. It would be different if there was an awareness of both at once versus a separation.

tiana britton

Every episode Roshi. Strap in.

NiToTheNah

LETS GOOO

Ayoni Folarin

Nah I'll work in The Oldest House before I work here bruh 💀

Tejiri Ubiedi

First let's gooooo!
