Instead the show has spent its run time on three antagonists whose only characteristic was different flavors of “hates Will”. Sion literally sabotaged the tournament right at the end instead of like… any other time because “Will wasn’t paying enough attention to him”. Like how does that justify Sion’s actions from a story perspective? Why were there no rules against it? Why was an entire episode of emotional buildup brushed off because Collete interrupted them with a dirt wall? What was all that determination even for? Meh, IDK this show really isn’t worth defending my reasons over. Not hating on y’all for liking it I just don’t like it myself. There are much better generic shows.

See, The thing about generic power fantasies is usually the comedically bad villains stay comedically bad villains rather than sticking around. So whether it be Edward, Sion, or Julius they all come off as both one dimensional but also like it's trying to have progression only to edge the progression before tripping and falling back down the stairs. Their personalities flip flop at random to suit the scene it’s odd and frustrating to watch.

And I think it's accurate when you consider what happens in a few episodes (if you know you know). I think Elfaria definitely focused all her ability on a single clone that no one can tell the difference of - even body temperature. And that is "Rosty". So basically she still doing what she did as a kid ha ha. She just upgraded!

The animation was pretty consistent, though it dipped a little in some places. But im fine with that, because I know what the finale will be and that's going to eat a ton of budget.

This animation was around the level of the first three of episodes. They allocated more of the budget and top animators for those parts I suppose. First episode needs to impress, so best foot forward. Episode two had the duel against Edward, so they held back for that. Episode three saved itself for the big ice monster battle once again demonstrating Will's speedy fighting style. I like how crisp and crunchy his rapid footsteps come through as well.

The fact that she created this when she was 2 though is nuts. Also, I don't know if you remember this but the student announcer said that he had bet his life savings in the illegal gambling ring on Wignall to win the crown, so that why he had money signs in his eyes and was excited when he won. 😂

His eyes are dead while everyone else is hype AF. Why is he having that reaction? At 20:31 in your reaction, you can see Elfi is crying in regret that her childhood habits with Will exposed to the audience. How would she know what happened at the stadium if her attendant is having to give her paper reports from the scouts on the ground…? This episode explained Elfi’s clone spell and how it requires active control by the caster so it’s speculated that Rosty is an ice clone and that the reason Rosty has dead eyes at 19:03 is because it reflects Elfi’s actual embarrassment that we see in 20:31. We’re seeing both perspectives but it’s potentially literally just her. That could explain why Rosty (being male) openly loves Will, because it’s actually just Elfi remote controlling. Nothing wrong with BL but this ain’t that kinda show, let’s be real. It also explains some of Rosty’s dialogue at the beginning of the fight when Elfi’s spells are being explained. He comments on it almost with intimacy but very casual as if he’s not impressed. Also explains why Elfi always looking bored/sleepy. Cause she actually remote playing a life sim as Will’s roomy with her eyes closed. Last but not least…”Rosty”….is one letter away from …. “Frosty”… PS: This has never been confirmed in the source material so it's pure speculation
