I like that they make you pay attention that way instead of just using a different color grade like everyone else does. Tina is so many women i (and probably all of us) know and grew up with, so it really hits home seeing her struggle. I'm so proud of everyone's growth 😭 and great points y'all made at the end!

The present day of the show is sometime in July 2023. The first episode took place in June 2022 - four months after Mikey's suicide, which happened in February 2022. The pandemic gets referenced occasionally on the show, but I don't think any of the flashbacks we've seen so far happened in the middle of the pandemic (2020-2021), besides the first episode of this season, which spans over about five years.

Mostly they dislike that they are providing character development for the side characters like Tina, Marcus, Sweeps, and even the Faks. Even though I believe that the side characters hold up the show to a very high degree I only really understand that criticism when it comes to Clair. But giving more scenes and love to the side characters is exactly what shows nowadays need to do. I loved this ep with Tina it’s explained exactly why she acted the way she did in S1.

2024-07-18 00:27:29 +0000 UTCThat's literally how they presented themselves when talking about forex and on flyers and their posts on Facebook etc. and they never went into much detail what was expected while asking you to attend a session to hear about how they were making money and able to buy all these things and all you needed to to get started was to give pay $250 to start up or whatever and you pay it every month and once you signed up another person for it then you wouldn't have to pay the $250 anymore 😅 😭. There were definitely people out there conning other people and not explaining what forex actually was and meant and then people just stopped talking about it all together. I also went to highschool where people fell for that vector hiring mess with selling knives 🤣

Or did the writers just not know what they were gonna do with her character yet when they wrote that line 😅 Because after this ep it's clear that Sydney and her family have known about and been eating at The Beef wayyyy before Tina ever even knew it existed. It also makes Tina's position as a sous way more impressive to me, she and Marcus really fast tracked it to being fine dining chefs within just a few years starting from scratch. Before, I thought she had at least 20 years of experience in kitchens based off the vibe she had in S1.

When FX renewed the show for season 3 they put in a double order, so the bear has been renewed for season 4 already. I think the writers wrote the season with that in mind. Knowing they were coming back for at least one more season, and used this one to fill in more Backstory for the supporting characters. Like Tina for example, I'm not saying they needed to but that's my guess as to why it's going this way. Especially if you're saying more flashbacks and Backstory is going to be given throughout the rest of season 3.

I think people may switch once 4 drops and we can see the whole vision. That being said this show is very much peak writing and i'll always enjoy spending time with the characters just yappin
