Roxy couldn't bear how depressed Rudy was after Paul's death, but she didn't know what to do. It was actually Elinalise who told her that sex is the best cure for man, so she did the only thing she was told she can do to help. Was it wrong? Of course, by our morals, definitely. Also, I'm not so sure it's ok for us to judge all their actions by our standards. In their world taking multiple wives for example is normal., but I can understand why we are so against it, we are all basically worshipers of Millis.

You can probably take that to the bank. There are probably very few people in this world who have been forced to think about, and deal with love as much as Elinalise has. Her character is an amalgam of all the best and worst metaphors about people who work in the sex industry and how they are seen. A true anchor character for Rudy, and not one whose ideas or advice should be so easily discarded.

While Sylphie has openly stated openness to Rudeus taking a concubine (ep15 of this season, 6:30 into the ep). By all accounts there have been signs of something like this happening for the majority of the later half of this season.

2024-06-27 03:21:35 +0000 UTCthe way i see it is that the anime, probably due to budget and deadline constraints, didn't have enough time to properly display how bad of a place Rudy was in. If Roxy wasn't there for Rudy at this time, he would've been in a much darker place and perhaps irredeemable. Elinalise said he would be fine but remember, she's allowed to be wrong. If you don't like the portrayal of this episode, i think that's fine, but objectively speaking I think it's clear Rudy would've been thrown in to the deep end mentally. As a character he looks like he's 1 tragedy away from becoming a deadbeat/villain/anti-hero(or whatever). Roxy undid a lot of the damage here and prevented him from going down a bad path. no one's a fan of people having multiple partners but i've already gotten past it at this point.

Rudy was actually completely ruined and was essentially gonna spiral into suicide had roxy not stepped in, and it was more than just a bang and he was good so this definitely felt like kinda awkward in comparison

It’s wild how they went about but I’ve seen a lot of people say the author changed how things are going in the anime. And apparently some context was cut out as well. I imagine this was much more, digestible? In the LN. What I really want to see is Rudy pull up on Eris with his STACKED harem 😂💀😭

She probably spend more time with Roxy because they traveled together after the teleportation and has a closer bond with her. So she prioritises roxy over Silphie.

Reason supposedly is author made tweets talking about wanting to make things more acceptable for a wider audience which is concerning. Even though how things went this episode in some aspects(in my opinion) might be worse then how they happened in the light novel. But since the author has a say in this adaptation and seemingly took part in making these changes and over all is involved makes it better than the studio being the ones who change things.

The way it played out is much more realistic than any other show I've seen with any harems or polygamy. Rudy been away from his wife for months, both his parents are gone, Paul dead, Zenith a possible vegetable the rest of her life. Now a woman he has literally worshipped his whole life is making a move. I've seen men break covenants under way less pressure. She was there to comfort him and Silphy wasn't. Not her fault and that doesn't make it right but I can see how one would end up in that situation with all things considered and it being a fantasy world. Idk how anyone banked on Elinalise being some kind of good role model to follow this episode. She is an elf who is cursed with nymphomania and has probably had more lovers than double the maximum human lifespan of the setting of the story. Her response wasn't far off from what I'd realisticly expect from cursed, nympho, elf, grandma.

From how long hes been locking himself up(Weeks), and how the group was actually tryin to find a way to get him out, the idea to have someone sleep with him, how it was Rudy's idea to marry Roxy after the incident, and the most important one, where Rudeus telling Roxy about his past life.(he tells it as a 'what if' tale but that still VERY IMPORTANT). i know they pressed for time n shit, but damn i feel like those are too important details to just....remove from the story. Then again, they are telling this thru Rudeus' side of the story but idk. im leanin towards i dont like it.

If he came onto a woman in the same mental state he'd be at fault not the girl. Like Roxy said, SHE took Advantage of him. Once he was in his right mind he made sure to clear things up. I respect the Author for his commitment to this being another world lol, They dont have the same views on marriage as ours, dif dietys, religions, norms, etc. If you worship this God, polygami is off the table but otherwise its not uncommon, just up to them. We as the viewer and Rudy himself are imposing rules on that nobody else is necessarily imposing. Def needs to talk to sylphie but she was open to him having a concubine. Dif context for sure, but she did crack the door a little already. Rudy def aint in the right but thats mainly for going against his own word and allowing himself to get taken advantage of like he did.

Yes, applying real world morals to a fantasy world is pointless, but even in Rudy's mind he was unfaithful. 2024-06-26 10:21:14 +0000 UTCThis should of been a rudy episode and ended with roxy coming in the room at the end it's somewhat watchable as an anime only but jesus this is one time they shouldn't of skipped all the content way too important and the changes make roxy out to be a rapist when it was in fact rudeus who pushed her down roxy was just offering herself to be used and so much more skipped content (like rudy basically hinting/telling roxy about the fact he's a reincarnation) I really recommend reading the light novel chapter just for this Volume 12 and start on chapter 10 and read to 12 and then stop there
