So I'm kinda happy they're having that show by Yamada's dad having Ichikawa's qualities just by looks alone. Her dad must be socially awkward asf which is why she can be so comfortable and forward with Ichikawa. Having dealt with her awkward dad, she naturally figured out ways of approaching Ichikawa since they're like .. mentally similar lol. At least that's how I'm seeing it.

I'm trying to look at it from a kid's perspective but if I got positive reinforcement after failing something I wouldn't feel as motivated to do better because you're still get something in the end either way.

Because (despite Yamada's appearance) they're still teens, and being a teen with feelings can be awkward. I like that this show is not shying away from that.
