Personally I have to disagree with you, I absolutely love the main character, but you are entitled to your opinion. Here's my thing, the story revolves around the fact that the main character was a loser that gave up on his dreams but now he's reaching for them, it's also partially important to have goofy moments to show he's maintained his humanity, if he where more serious people probably wouldn't be as receptive to him, or as trusting toward him. And it's like the people in the comments are saying (though somewhat rudely) we're only in episode 5/12 and there definitely going to be another season to come so he's got plenty of room and time to develop, but I can understand why you wouldn't like him, not everyone is into the Goofy hero character type

Man I love this show. My guy Kafka here is 32, out of shape and it shows. I love it. This should be very inspirational for people in the 30s because there's this bad mindset that once you hit 30 you're considered old asf and that you should give up because you're not in your 20s no more and it's too late. That was his mindset in ep 1 but it's not too late if you keep at it and I'm glad he's getting a second chance at this. Honestly, I think there needs to be more anime that sends that kind of message ( there probably is and they aren't mainstream ). I'm also pretty glad that the plot is making it socially dangerous for him to use his Kaiju form and that he needs to carry on with his 32 year old limits. lol
