Dungeon Meshi isn't as action heavy but EXTREMELY solid, definitely has hype moments and funny af, just not as flashy as a shonen. If you need a more lighthearted show to balance out the schedule I highly recommend!

People kinda wild with the "it gets good at x" comments. Idk what has or hasn't been said on stream, but the dropped notif stated it was good but not "reaction worthy." How much of that was just to not piss people off idk. There's action as soon as Ep. 3. Juicy bits of plot to gnaw on in Ep. 4. With more of each continuing on from there. Yes there's a major turning point deeper into the season, but there should be plenty to react to even that early, be it comedy, craziness, or speculation. "You just gotta make it halfway into the season" isn't the sell ya'll think it is, nor is it an entirely fair evaluation.

Even though I am a 100% for Dungeon Meshi I still want to recommend a reaction for the future. Gundam 00. One of the best gundam series out there. First episode aired in 2007, but the animation and fight scenes are still top-notch even by today's standards. Edit: Also, easy to watch without any prior knowledge on the gundam anime.

Hey I didn't know where to put this but, I just wanted to let yall know that a really good movie just dropped on Netflix, called the Book of Clarence. Its a great comedy(ish) movie set in 33 AD Jerusalem. Its had me lol multiple times, and crying at the end so all in all a great movie for yall to watch (even if yall don't do a reaction for it just watch it bc its good). Also I dont think you have to be a Christian to like it since I'm an atheist myself and thought that it was great. Definitely one of the best movies I've seen all year.

I personally enjoy the show! At the first few episodes it gets slow but later on it gets interesting. There’s a mystery. The plot is a bit similar to dorohedoro. The animation style is cool, total different art design I’ve never seen before, pretty cool. Try watching it on your own time and see if you like to do a reaction 🙂

It is beautifully animated but it’s very slow show where you will feel like every episode is “Hey look a monster”, “let’s eat said monster”, “no I don’t want to eat monsters”, “oh wow that monsters tasty”. It does get better but I have to admit I’m struggling to stay with it and may drop it and retry it once it’s finished. Maybe try a slightly older show you thought of watching but never got a chance to see instead.

When they got through 2 episodes and weren’t really that engaged, they probably just thought it’d be better to drop it to squeeze in some other highly requested show. We know Rimuru is gonna prevail in the end with some cheap shit no matter how powerful his enemies are/become because that's the point of the show and it doesn't try to do anything else interesting. Reconsideration of things is not immediately bad. Sometimes you get put off by the slowness of a show, or its lack of certain elements in the beginning. Returning to certain shows/anime after some time is a very common thing that happens and for good reason. You’d miss out on so many golden nuggets if you just tried to be swayed by the first or 2nd episode.

Honestly one of my favourite mangas ever. All the characters have so much depth (except maybe Chilchuck but he’s still awesome) Seeing everything get animated is like a dream come true. Honestly tho, a lot of older shows just might not be fun react shows. Most people want to watch their favorite reactors watch new/seasonal stuff because it's hype. We can watch them watch something like Monster or something like you said (that stood the test of time), but it might not pop off on youtube. That said, Dungeon Meshi is good, but if they still don't want to watch it then no one should try and force them. It's up to them entirely.

The protagonist personality is too bland/non chalant for me. In may be deeper than Dungeon Meshi but not enough for a reaction imo. Them making actual dishes with monsters while progressing through the dungeon to save his sis is a great monologue to the show, which I’ll admit I had playing in the back ground but at Ep.6 it got interesting and it made me go back and rewatch from the start and I enjoyed every minute. I’ve rewatched the series 4 times and get excited every Thursday a new episode is released.

i loved dungeon meshi, i think the bombastic trigger animation really elevates what was already really good source material into an amazing adaptation, and i will say gets really interesting with its themes and narrative choices as it goes on,,, !!!BUT!!! i feel like if you weren't really rocking with the beginning bit then forcing your way through it just to get to "the good part" isn't the move and might even lead to yall not liking the show at all,,,, especially when you consider that the beginning bit that they weren't feeling is kinda like,,, the CORE of the series when you really get down to it, and id rather they just miss out on it or watch on their own time than us and them having to sit through a reaction where no one is having a good time.

I watch a ton of anime. I'm not too biased, all I ask is that the anime is engaging or interesting on some level. This show really did nothing to pull me in at the start. I'm aware it "gets better later", but that's the same bull people told me about One Piece, it did *not* get better later. They just started punching each other more. Personally, I recommend Danmachi , it's got 5 (maybe 6?) seasons, and it's a pretty good show.

I'm gonna be 100 with you guys when u first did ur reactions to this I enjoyed ur reactions more than I did the show. After u dropped it i tried to watch it on netflix and thought it was OK but i've seen better cooking anime so i stopped 4 ep in and thought i"ll binge it when it finishes and when im in between seasons. Then i started seeing other reacting groups doing videos and all the memes and funny edits so i decided to give it another go, I just finished the manga 3 days ago. It takes awhile for the show to be more than "hahaha what crazy monster food are we cooking today" but trust me when I say when the story gets going it gets filled with action, emotion, suspense, comedy, and a sense of wanting to know how the story will end with characters that have alot more depth to them than the start of the story paints them out to be. Now the show isnt for everyone, its a slow burn and the concept of cooking monsters and the desire to eat them is a constant story point till the end. While I highly recommend picking back up the show only do it if ur OK with waiting for the episodes to build up the story. If ur good with that u wont regret it if not thats fine to. I'm a fan of ur content and im not going any where. P.S if you decide to watch something else try GATE Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri.

That's just bad direction to the anime no matter how good the manga is,if you can't properly integrate Information and Battles in a good way it's just Boringgggg. And why should I stfu? I have my opinions, you have yours. Majority will agree with me that the start of this season is awful. It's hard to not get sleepy, what's bad is the weekly dose of Beaurocracy. If they could just compress these information into 3 episodes and rest scatter them throughout the fight scenes it'd have been much smoother. But you won't understand, you're one of those who just read the manga and novel and now defending 6 episodes of continuous yapping. @Denickart - Watch a negative review? I don't generally watch or read reviews (positive or negative) for shows I plan to watch. I'll give it a chance with as much blindness as possible, and if I hate it, I won't continue. This was a rare occasion where something Roshi started was dropped, so I think that speaks for itself. But, again, supposedly the show gets better. I don't imagine they'll drop it a second time, even if they continue to dislike the show. In that scenario, it will be taking away space from a show they might enjoy (or tolerate). Hopefully, they'll enjoy Dungeon Deshi this time, though. This channel usually focuses on real time reaction over post-reaction analysis (which is fine), so I'm not sure what you'd be expecting them to say in terms of feedback.

I love good fantasy animes like mushoku tensei, To Your Eternity, made in abyss, Frieren, and DUNGEON MESHI is one of them. I love it when you can feel that the world is alive and the characters have well-developed personalities. Also, something that is really hard to do is to have a good progression in the story and, especially, a good solid ending... Dungeon Meshi is one of the few long mangas that had a perfect ending and the journey was fucking hilarious.

The show starts getting good by chapter 8 onwards. It specially picks it up harder with the introduction of "The Lunatic Magician" and also with the introduction of more characters which makes the show a lot better (darker) and less focussed on the cooking like in the early episodes. These last episodes were fun and enjoyable and are making me remember why I loved the manga so much after quitting it initially because I thought it was boring. Thx god I don't remember it that clearly so I can enjoy the anime, but I can say that this is one of the few long mangas which have a perfect journey and ending. Also, please don't believe in my words, but believe in studio trigger which only works on animes that they know have a lot of potential. But, at the end of the day, if is not your cup of tea after watching some extra episodes is all right, not every show is for everyone and that is understandable (hope someone reads this lmao).

Because it's the definition of a "3 episode rule" show, the show changes DRASTICALLY as time goes on, it starts extremely slow and I nearly dropped it. But by ep 5 or so it picks up and then goes insane by around ep 11 and keeps that pacing

It might be technically more accurate, but it has the problem that a lot of Netflix subbed shows like Pluto have where the writing is really dry and flatly written. If they were watching fan translations it might be better, but the Netflix ones are the easiest for them probably. Plus comedy just hits better when you can hear it in your own language, but that’s just me maybe.

It isn't a Shonen, though there are some nice fights, and the anime/Manga really focuses on fleshing out the world. So I would love if yall try watching it again but try not to be too disappointed since its not really a reaction kind of show. Its not afraid to take its time setting up the mystery of the dungeon.

The main crew gets into crazier things as time goes on. It's a show that builds as time goes on. The manga has won tons of awards and the world shows it was built with care. It's a pretty boring show (IMO) that focuses almost exclusively on a gimmick already covered by other shows (eating monster parts), but I get why people who haven't seen that kind of thing find it fun. It's a major drag so I dropped it after 4 episodes, but I don't expect to like every show you all post so it's all good if you AND the people want to watch it. Don't let people bully y'all into it if you aren't feeling it though.
