Agreed! They are co-dependent.

2024-12-23 17:57:38 +0000 UTCI'd be afraid to tell him anything as well if I were Gang-tae I mean look it how Sang-tae reacts to stuff I think Sang-te would've probably had a similar reaction he'd he just told him the truth because he's afraid of loosing Gang-tae.

2024-08-28 01:57:57 +0000 UTCI see what you're saying but Sang-tae also can be volatile when he's upset and struggles with change so I see Gang-tae trying to please everybody at once but also trying get something for himself. Sang doesn't want Gang to be with Moon so I think he's trying to avoid the inevitable.

2024-05-21 08:10:38 +0000 UTCGang-tae is treating Sang-tae as if he's a child that's dependent on him. In reality, Gang-tae is heavily dependent on Sang-tae due to being forced into the caregiver role his whole life, and is projecting that onto him rather than learning to deal with it himself. He acts as if Sang-tae can't do anything without him, when right now it's more like the opposite.

2024-04-26 17:18:12 +0000 UTCWhere you get the -te end to the brothers names. I also think it's written Mun-yeong in the show. Well anyways I think when Korean names are written in English they have way too many ways to write them. Like just stick to one. Also I don't blame you for writing the names like that of course because it's so weird anyways. lmao

2024-04-26 17:16:50 +0000 UTCWhat is Gang-tae projecting on his brother?
Sasha
2024-04-26 17:10:42 +0000 UTCThis show is so on point with the directing and the main actors are peforming at top level. With this first rewatch there hasn't been a moment I felt bored which happens with at least 90% of the shows I have seen even on the first watch

2024-04-26 17:08:25 +0000 UTCI agree that Gang Tae is babying Sang Tae while he should be more upfront with him but also Gang Tae isn’t perfect and there’s no guidebook how to take care of someone like Sang Tae or anyone in general.

2024-04-24 16:19:12 +0000 UTCchildhood traumas aside, Gang-tae has been treating Sang-tae like a child his whole life. He's overprotective of him to the point of actively hindering Sang-tae's ability and opportunities to function in society like a normal human adult. Yes he's autistic, but Gang-tae constantly makes assumptions about how Sang-tae will behave, about what he can and can't handle, and lies because he thinks Sang-tae can't handle the truth. Like OF COURSE he won't be able to handle difficult situations if you never give him the chance to deal with difficult situations and learn from them. There is a point where protection becomes actively harmful to a person's development, and Sang-tae is way past that. I understand Gang-tae has traumas too and that's why he's behaving this way, but it's not fair of him to project that onto his brother. He needs therapy, not to be a full-time caregiver.

2024-04-23 14:37:13 +0000 UTCi think gang tae is overly protective and tip toes around sangtae due to the guilt of genuinely thinking about leaving him in that frozen lake for a second even though he changed his mind.

2024-04-23 07:08:29 +0000 UTCTo be fair, I think that while Sang-te doesn't like Gang-te and Moon-youngs relationship, I think its the fact that he is obviously lying to him that sets him off here. His brother is constantly telling him that he wont lie to him, which really he shouldn't be promising in the first place, but then blatantly lies to his face. I think Moon-young asking him earlier in the episode about when he hated Gang-te the most, as well as him him having that bad dream was also a trigger.

2024-04-23 05:28:27 +0000 UTCI can’t even bring myself to be frustrated with Gangtae even though he definitely could have handled certain situations better. I think I just have a fragile heart when it comes to these things and Gangtae’s situation makes me empathize with him and understand why he doesn’t always make perfect decisions. I do think he’s doing the best he can with the cards he has been dealt.

2024-04-23 05:11:07 +0000 UTCDamn bro, I understand why Gang Tae is the way that he is but he is so frustrating sometimes. I just keep hearing Will Smith in my head in that fake ass Nigerian accent saying, "tell the truth!"

2024-04-23 05:03:28 +0000 UTCSomething I don’t see a lot of people addressing is the fact that Gangtae DID turn away when his brother fell in the water. Like there was an immature part of him that was thinking for a sec, “wait my burden could be gone.” But it didn’t last long and he saved his bro at the end. But Sangtae remembers and he mixed that with his own feelings.

2024-04-23 03:21:07 +0000 UTCIt's terrible cause he really spent his entire life taking care of his brother since he was a child. I know he feels responsible for him, but ignoring your own physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing to take care of a person is never healthy for yourself. It's so sad that no one else was there to share that responsibility of raising Sangtae. I've watched this series three times already and that last scene always hurts so bad
