I do think it's more than her husband. she mentions her family name and the injustice done to her. While I do think she is loyal to Toronaga,I think she doesn't cares for the position she is in considering how she is always a sacrifice for tradition and duty. Toronaga know she has never got over her loss and I don't think she has either. She want to be her own person and have freedom, just as Anji-sama talks about how he is free in the open seas.

Their mission was to sell undercover and discover the trading routes, so I think they were trying to be less obvious about who they were. They are technically speaking Portuguese right now but we hear it as English. So when she says his own words she is talking about Portuguese. From her and Japan point of view at the time, they are all the same and unaware of the country breakdowns outside of Japan. They have been keeping the Japanese in the dark to keep them exclusive.

Mariko absolutely was telling Blackthorne to stfu and follow the script, but it's not like Fuji didn't know - their walls are literally paper thin and Mariko came in a second after Fuji left, they would've passed each other. What I like about it is that Fuji's character is very nuanced - she initially hated the idea of serving Blackthorne but has come to respect him. It's just that respect does not automatically mean wanting to fuck the shit out of lmao.
