But hair and fabrics are things she's intimately familiar with, things she has core sensory memories about. Essentially, it's harder to perfectly visualize cutting through a person than a simple item like fabric or hair.

You saw him get shot in hos exposed face and it reflected a blast so shooting his legs wouldn't work. Everyone layers defensive magic over everything, and that’s what everyone else focuses on. But the magic is only layered across the objects, and anchored to them. They don’t actually make the objects themselves invulnerable. Because everyone focuses on the magics, they can’t get to the objects that they’re anchored to. Übel slips through all that by focusing solely on the objects she wants to cut. It’s not something that anyone who isn’t neurodivergent can do.

The tree, the citywide force field, etc. If she couldn't visualize the end result in detail, they're saying her magic would have failed, so she must have been able to visualize it...which is insane. It's also interesting to think of Frieren as a seed Flamme planted to kill the demon king.

Ubel is a special case while her spell should not work against the cloak or Sense's steel like hair, but since she always consider things like fabric or hair can be cut, she somehow cut through them with ease. Since we viewers also view clothes or hair can be cut, we can easily think Burg's or Sense's defeat was inevitable. But if we thought about some other aspects, like no one went like "oh shoot, let's glue him up real quick" or "let's rewind time to save his life" when Burg was killed. Yeah I know this is purely theoretical and he was f*cking chopped in half but hey, who know if there was someone even crazier than Ubel think like that and actually create spell to connect severed limbs or rewind time 🤣

The whole concept of visualization is key. However, some mages. and I do mean less than a handful, can do it. Frieren's clone used an invisible attack. An attack created out of nothing. Shinra Tensei'd her ass. I could be wrong in how I explain it. But just shows that Frieren isn't telling Fern all her secrets and probably never will. Also, I never wanna see Frieren look that mad again. Demon King probably shit his pants seeing that look.

It was a shame too, because it was shown in Ubel vs Wirbel battle that defensive spell can block her cutting spell, but Ubel left him no chance to activate it in time to save himself.

Rather, he ran out of time - the golems were set to break the bottles on their own after a set amount of time if you didn't reach the finish line. 2024-03-12 00:41:01 +0000 UTCThe spell Frieren used we don’t have much info on even later on in the manga but it’s some kind of typeless force magic that can’t even be detected or conceived like fully invisible. Her comment suggests the last time she had to use that spell was against the demon lord and as far as we can tell it requires some kind of setup (which is the opening that let frieren kill the clone) so presumably the original party probably defended frieren whilst she charged up that spell to hit the demon lord.

Even when he came back and Freiren was talking mad shit about how fast humans progressed, Qual immediately analyzed the modern defensive spells and was gonna lay down the law, but Freiren ended him quick before he could.

I think other than that, he only appeared like 2 other times, 1 where he was naked in that bathtub reading and the other where he hid in a corner somewhere during the exam

The white zoltraak that's commonly used was repurposed from the original to be especially effective against demons instead. It'd make sense for clone Frieren to use a juiced up black zoltraak since elves count as humans and she looked like she was trying to bring the fight to it's finale.
