Anno Un in this episode said that they are both to caught up in rules. That they assume things work a certain way so they make more rules for themselves. Same thing with Andy we believe he can only access his true power as victor when he removes the thing in his head. What if all the restrictions we know about how their powers work aren't actually real? That is my current train of thought based on what Anno Un said.
