He was literally testing him to see if he wanted to invest time in considering him for a candidate. He already knew what Macaron was capable of, but knew next to nothing about Mash. The fact that he literally hesitated while fighting him because he didn't want to kill him is just extra proof that he has nothing against him. I'm actually glad he tested him. He just wants to make sure he makes the right decision when adjudicating the next DV. As a Divine Visionary he would have to be able to handle himself in a battle with people way more powerful than him. Mash is super strong, but he's not the strongest lol. Also, saying it wasn't fair because the Divine Visionary had all kinds of handicaps put on him is kinda funny considering in a real battle no one cares if you have handicaps. Both sides will and should exploit handicaps in a real battle. He was putting Mash in the right headspace, letting him know, look man, you're tough, but the person you'll be facing is a PROBLEM 😅
