Everything they went through together was basically wiped out by the last episode and Hyeon-soo is basically left with only a shadow of the relationship he built with his wife. It's not like they started going on dates and fell in love again, he just started remembering previous feelings.

2024-01-20 21:20:28 +0000 UTCright bc he lost 15yrs of memory, to the exact point where he started living as hee song, but w the memory loss he's still hyeon su, those 15yrs of living as someone else are gone so now he can finally love ji won and eun ha as himself.. its a bizarre way to do it but its not a completely out of pocket way to wrap the show up imo lol

This ep made me cry fr, especially w Eun Ha coming hug him and him breaking down. And I felt for Hae Su and Moojin, I wish they could've been end game too. I agree w Sheera though, him loving her as Baek Hee Song was all planned and even though he did love her underneath, that was 15yrs of lies and hiding, and then the struggle that came after she found out his true identity.

I feel like the truth would have been a million times better than having the daughter think she got abandoned by her dad. But u know this a kdrama so everything just works out in the end.

"i could have done without episode 16. condense it down to the essential bits to wrap up any loose threads and add it to episode 15 for an hour 30-45 big finale". pacing is not this show's friend. but other than that, i enjoyed it

2024-01-20 04:21:10 +0000 UTCi totally agree with sheera about the ending, it might seem unnecessary, but it’s important for heyon-su. there’s a reason why he lost all his memories starting from the moment he started living as heesong. he was living a life of lies and entered his marriage out of necessity, living as someone else. not only does he get to find his way back into his marriage strictly out of love but also as himself. he’s doesn’t have to carry all of the trauma, lies and guilt but gets to start over as himself for the first time in his life. personally loved the ending and they did it so well for a played out cliche.

Personally I was on the same side as Roshi when I first watched this last year, I thought this episode initially was super unnecessary and part of it is probably bias since the amnesia trope is more common than it should be in shows, but I also thought it was just a cop out way to end the show to wrap it up. But after listening to Sheera describe it from an empathetic point of view, it's definitely a great way of describing how they wanted to wrap up the story from the point of view that he has never been true to himself and that the amnesia has enabled him to start afresh and it's a checkpoint for his character to be able to do so as his ownself. Thank you guys for sharing the flower of evil journey with us!

I highly recommend STRANGERS FROM HELL or KINGDOM in replacement for the Flower of Evil. Moving has so many episodes and the show is a bit slower in the beginning to mid and focuses more on the backstory for yall to be prepared for the last 4 episodes of the show. Since yall only upload it once or twice a week, it’s better to choose the ones that are short.

Only downside, is it would NEED Lupa in on it, cause without him reacting would be a crime. Just imagine Feudal Korea with zombies from Train to Busan, will all unpredictability of The Glory. Truly an S-tier show!

2024-01-20 03:13:51 +0000 UTCYeah, I agree with Sheera here. A lot of people hate the amnesia trope (and I usually do) but I felt like it was done very well here and helped move the story forward. It gives him the opportunity to basically start their relationship with the right intentions vs starting a relationship with her bc he didn't see his father whenever he was near her. like yeah he came to love her, but I felt like he kind of needed this reset himself to realize that he loves her and she loves him for him. it felt like he always subconsciously struggled with knowing whether or not jiwon could love him as he is or as the man he made himself to be all those years. but also he kind of realizes in that moment in the shop, the man he was wasn't entirely fake (although buried beneath a bunch of lies) which is why the memories coming back was important (I interpreted the flashback as that meaning his memories came back and i personally choose to believe that when he hugged his daughter, they all came back and he was overwhelmed with emotions). But now he can live completely as himself. But yeah, really enjoyed y'alls reaction!!! Thanks for checking this one out

2024-01-20 02:17:18 +0000 UTCthe cliche amnesia storyline will never get old, no matter how cheesy it is. i do like how they played it out in this though. it wasn't like, i forgot things for a week and now i have all my memories and feelings back. and while i didn't agree with her entire growth period, i'm happy the mom didn't lie to him and appeared to truly believe he deserved the truth and happiness in his life. the dad didn't get the justice upon him that he deserved, but some might argue that being trapped in his memories and perpetually locked in a hospital as punishment. i think if he's living with happy memories only that's just not satisfying. i also like to think that in the future hae soo and moo jin finally get their happy ending together. either way, this is definitely a good show. i think it's very overrated and overhyped, however. people act like it's a masterpiece and it's just not. i've seen a lot of posts talking about how people started it because of the hype but never finish it because it's unrealistic or just not as good as it's made out to be,(vincenzo is in the same category), but it checks all the boxes of a good show and the acting is great, especially by the villains. I'm hoping for Taxi Driver, The Uncanny Counter, or hell let's throw in a period piece and go for My Country: The New Age
