I don't watch Vinland Saga or Castlevania but yeah people who would be okay with that are also hypocrites if they're purists. I try to watch everything in its original language but sometimes especially in historical shows, it kind of throws me off. I can't get into it because it's always in the back of my mind preventing me from enjoying the show. I'd love to get into this show and many others but I just can't. To show the extent of my bizarre behavior, I keep an original tube 480p TV and VCR to watch the original star wars trilogy. Most people aren't as extreme as I am though.

Whatever the original language is in a show almost always has higher quality audio. Dubbing is expensive. You have to literally superimpose sound onto a finished product. I'm not even talking about the quality of voice acting. Just from a pure technical standpoint it has hurdles that the original sound design doesn't. Not only that but certain nuances are incredibly hard to translate effectively and what could be said in a word or two in one language could take an entire sentence in another. It's more challenging than most of you think.

It’s probably sounds better in English because it was made in English, then dubbed. The main voice actress is a great actress herself in general which i’m sure helps (the whole english cast is full of great actors tbh). Kinda like Castlevania where it was made in English and actually has great English VA’s.

I was shocked how good the English voice acting was, and that it's originally in English. Kinda threw me off at first when I watched it on my own, because it still felt out of place with Japanese people in feudal Japan somehow magically speaking English. But for the most part, acting is solid. Sound quality is better than in Japanese for some reason, which isn't even in the top dubs in the settings (which I found really weird). Definitely way better than trying to play Ghost of Tsushima in English.
