Very odd thing to say since the reactors we're subscribed to are black... Stop making it about black or white it's very cringe -_- I couldn't stand Syd last season, she was very disrespectful towards most people and gave up at the first sign of struggle while insulting Carmy calling him a piece of shit for whatever reason. This Episode she was nice, and I really hope they keep her on that path, I think she's a great character but every time they try to give her a "girl boss, calling everybody else a failure" moment it's a miss for me.

Maybe you were blinded by your weird hatred for her but the connection between not showing compassion for Mikey compared to her mom is the exact same. She did not know Mikey before he died, so she wouldn't have the same amount of empathy that everyone else who knew would have, you see her react the same way while her father talks about her mother, she not trying to be insensitive but you can tell by how she reacts to his story there is/was little to no relationship between her and her mother. Also to dive into what others are saying, it is because she is black but not just that. Her being a black woman character everyone seems to just have this misguided hate for her without attempting to look into her character compared to characters like Richie and Marcus the comments tend to give Syd a lot more hate than it is worth.

ever since the last few episodes of last season my dislike for her has grown, which sucks since she was my favorite character at the start of the show, in this episode the comment she made about mickey’s hat rubbed me the wrong way considering 1. it was insensitive 2. it might be just a hat to her but it holds sentimental value to the people who actually knew him. we learn that her mom passed away so idk maybe she can show some compassion considering she also has a deceased loved one

It’s loaned money, but the 300k was left to Carmy, so he’s using that for the investment instead of paying Cicero back, which is his choice. Plus, I believe Carmy and Nat own the actual restaurant and lot, or at least have their name on it, so asset wise they have investment in it. I’m all for Syd being paid/treated as a partner in this, but it is a question about how to do that fairly.

It not like Ebra can't cook but I think you guys are not taking into account that in culinary school, things are done a curtain way and i'm sure cutting celery, onions, lettuce, among other things are cut a curtain way for speed and precision. What are yall on about Syd not being a partner. She is his head chef now and will be pretty much running the kitchen and has equal parts in designing the menu for the place. None of them have the money, which is why they are using mikey money and the loan to jump start the business. In the hope of earning all the money back in a few months. Its the reason she is not getting paid a normal salary when they start to help the business be profitable. That sounds like a partner to me. Carmy won't have to wear all the hats and look at the bigger picture of the business and make sure everything is on point.
