2024-01-14 16:18:34 +0000 UTCThey skipped Nagumo's and Asahina's interest in ayanokoji from last season, which will translate into Nagumo attacking him in year 2, they skipped hashimoto and ryuuen's meetup which led hashimoto to believe ayanokoji is a threat they skipped the cards scene that allowed koenji to find out that koji is the mastermind from the shadows instead of it being an asspull just from him grabbing him and the most important one to me, which isn't really a skip is the genuinity in ayanokoji when he said he'll do anything to protect kei, cause in the ln in his monologue he said he really hopes they'll devleop into something special in the future they skipped the scene with nagumo pressing koenji, and his unveiling his plans to graduate in class A using 20,000,000 points to buy himself there, which introduces the point transfer class thing and how much it specifically costs which is definitely important (and dives more into koenji's character) they skipped ayanokoji's character development with him directly stating he'll do anything for horikita, yosuke, and the ayanokoji group to not get expelled which is important later the point is that its impossible to get "decent" pacing animating 4 volumes into 13 episodes when eminence in shadow adapted 2 volumes into 20 episode and still had to skip through things

2024-01-14 02:39:34 +0000 UTCnagumo and his introduction was supposed to happen last season when they adapted volume 7.5, but they skipped that and skipped his convo with ayanokoji (which was the reason he became intrugued with him in the first place) as well as Asahina. They skipped the cards game this episode which was a manipulation tactic nagumo used against ayanokoji, and one of the reasons koenji found out his identity. A lot of important things skipped hopefully this doesnt turn out like tokyo ghoul

2024-01-12 04:12:13 +0000 UTCThey didn't really skip them going to class C. Last episode of season 2 Kouji said that Class D will move up to class C when he was talking to Ryuen. I think because Ryuen took the fall for what happened, his class lost a lot of points which moved them down to class D.

I keep up with the reddit because they post stuff I forget about. So the anime has only 25 students in the class vs the LNs 40 They for some reason never give you a number for a large amount of points spent even though it's super important. It takes 20 Million points to transfer from a class and to avoid expulsion which is how much Manabu (Horikita's brother) spent it was such a big deal because he's literally about to graduate now he doesn't have a way to defend himself or his class. Idc if y'all say the points is spoiler at this point this info should've been given already. They skipped a part with Koenji that basically tells you he's rich and that he was gonna acquire 20 million points with actual money to transfer to class A if needed.

But the creator told the Anime director that they can basically do whatever they want as long it got adapted since the first season was made just to push LN sales. I'm assuming Shōgo Kinugasa had no plans for S2 or 3 but the LN got popular enough

As far as skip content goes that's just because of how much they're adapting into each season. Season 1 was volumes 1 through 3 and a side story season 2 was volume four to volume seven and this season is volume 8 to 11 which is the end of their first year. This doesn't include the side stories that take place between each season.

It kinda happened in the interval between Ayanokoji beating Ryuuen and his gang and before this special exam since this starts at the beginning of volume 8 and Ayanokoji telling Ryuuen that Class D would advance to C in Volume 7.5 (after the beat down on the rooftop/gymnasium)

There are some small things they skipped over that I wish they kept, such as Nagumo and Koenji talking about how Koenji was planning to graduate from Class A. Also, I didn't think the anime skipped them becoming Class C right? It just happened after the events of last season I thought but I don't remember.

If they had shown more stuff, you would have been like "why did it feel like nothing happened". It would have been nothing too consequential for our main protag. It was this or just skip that whole arc. Guess they just chose not to. For the most part, we're getting Ayanokoji's pov. Which makes more sense why stuff feels like it got skipped over since he's limited with who he can interact with in this exam so he's actually skipping most things himself in a way.
