Not only is Ibara's design really intimidating with the broad shoulders and stilts he wears making him tall and imposing in every shot he's in, but also the black eyes and change in his voice are super terrifying, and he's so clever. I'm with you Roshi one part of me wants him to come back at some point cause he's so cool but another part of me knows he must absolutely not come back cause he is a problem and we did way too much work to get him

2023-12-23 02:11:34 +0000 UTCremember ibara has the dna and tenacity of the last astronauts in him so his genes to be smart calculating and looking at details is what astronauts needs so all high ranking member of this island are smart. if you remember when ibara was introduced he noticed a barrel being moved a the width of a pinky. the treasure island was meant to be a resource from his dad to senku to help find out what happen and unpetrify the world. if ibara had failed his coup this would have been easy but just as always in human history there will be people who will do horrible things to obtain power and even more to sustain said power

Ibara figures out their plan, senku has a backup plan and uses hyoga, ibara petrifices the island, chrome and senku figure out how to counter, and the whole petrification scene (even if the perception of time is kinda wonky) it was so intense.

I think the reason why throwing the acid worked like it did is because like we've seen with the other statues, the de-petrification starts on the area of contact and travels from there, just like the petrification, but that only works if that area is petrified. It basically just follows the petrificaton and undoes it as it happens.
